Product Description

This hand flour mill is the best hand mill that we sell. It is manufactured in Germany. The stainless steel milling heads are only 1" in diameter. This makes this mill the easiest hand mill to turn. It is the only hand mill that I have ever tested that will mill "pastry fine flour" first time through! Has full rubber foot to protect any surface it is attached to. Loosen the dial on the mill and change from pastry flour to course cracked grain. Will mill any grain and any bean that will fit through opening. This mill is amazing!

Read about this is Sally's book "Nourishing Traditions", it came highly recommended by some serious cooks as well.
Grinding surface is hard granite and it has adjustable settings, which allows you to both crack grains and grind them into fine flour. Really enjoy the stainless steel milling attachment that allows to grind oily seeds and sprouts as well!

Just recieved our grain mill and immediately put it to use. Our first time out was an experiment, so my grade may change over time. Processed enough hard white wheat for wheat bread. I had to grind the wheat twice to get the quality I was looking for. Still a little grainy, and definitely not as fine as store bought flour, but more than acceptable. Lot of hand cranking, but what do you expect when you get a hand cranked mill?

The mill is well constructed and appears to be very sturdy. I expect it to be around for a long time, and for anyone looking for a small capacity mill that does not require electricity, I would definitely recommend it.

By the way, the bread turned out great. A 9" loaf pan produces a very solid loaf of bread. When I removed the bread from the oven, I joked with my wife and told her I may have hurt my back lifting the pan. I told her the bread looked great, but it definitely was not a light weight.
