Ok. It costs... well a lot compared to most coffee makers. However, the time it saves (stopping by a coffee shop, making your own, responsibly recycling k-cup containers, etc) is worth it. I've also been keeping track of each cup and how many bags of coffee I buy. At the rate it is used in my house, it'll pay for itself in around three months, factoring in time saved and money saved per cup.

Oh, and the brew it makes is solid. The manual is legit, and not for the timid. It can do a lot but it sometimes takes a few minutes to research it within the manual to do it properly.

Cleaning is a breeze so far. No issues.

I worked in an office which had the previous version of this machine. It was used CONSTANTLY and didn't have any issues. That is what made me get this one. Hopefully, it can stand up to my use.

Last, when friends visit and you bring them a latte or a triple espresso - they are happy which makes me happy. Worth it.

I've had two Jura Impressa semi-automatic espresso machines, a C1000 (the predecessor of the C60) and currently an E8 (which does all the same things), with a combined total of about 10 years experience with the products. This review is about my general experience with those products rather than my specific experience with this version. I have studied the C60, though, and it is what I would purchase if I needed a replacement now. My observations have been:

1. The Jura machines are extremely well-designed and well-built. I've had virtually no mechanical problems with either machine. I am particularly impressed by the software. The user interface is simple and very well thought-out. The machine will tell you everything you need to know when you need to know it.
2. The customer service is excellent. Any time I have needed anything they have been helpful, efficient, knowledgable and prompt.
3. The Jura machines make good coffee. With espresso, it's all about the steam pressure and the beans. Higher end machines may have more pressure, but my Jura machines have had enough. The beans you use in a semi-automatic machine make all the difference. I've experimented with many types of beans, and have found that a robust, dry (not oily) bean works best. French roast and most espresso roast beans don't work well because they are too sticky to move through the machine well. The best beans I have found have been Kirkland (i.e. Costco) Signature Espresso Beans. They are roasted by Starbucks, and better for these machines than even the Starbucks-brand espresso roast beans. Unfortunately, they have become harder to get since Costco seems to only sell them to business customers now - I purchase them now from resellers on eBay.

I purchased my Jura C60 from a Sur la Table store just after Christmas and so far I am highly impressed by this coffee maker. I had been wanting a 'by the cup' coffee maker for a while and had been researching Keurig and Nespresso machines and a few super-automatics. I initially was disregarding the super-automatics at first because of the price, but even though initially more expensive, the cost of purchasing K-Cups (available pretty much in any store) or Nespresso pods (which can only be bought online unless you have a Nespresso Boutique in your town) would exponentially add up and end costing way more than the Jura within 6 months or so (based on my avg coffee consumption). The after-purchase cost of the Jura C60 is just the beans of choice and a water filter (around $20 or so) every three months or so. If you don't have hard water or if you have a water softener, the filter isn't even necessary.

About the machine itself, it was relatively easy to set up using the instructions manual. There is also a good demonstration/review video for the C60 available on YouTube by Seattle Coffee Gear that is helpful in learning to use the C60. The bean hopper holds about 7oz of beans and there is also a port to use pre-ground coffee as well. It has a settings for espresso, ground coffee, and coffee from the beans. It also includes an attached steamer line to make hot frothed milk or hot water for a cup of tea. A plus about the steamer is that it's very easy to clean so you don't end up with yucky rancid milk inside the machine. The included tubing and the end of the steamer line pops off for easy cleaning.

My favorite feature of the C60 is the brew volume selector.

The short version of the review is great machine with minor flaws.

So this is my second super automatic, my previous model a DeLonghi died after 12 years hard service, the reviews for a comparable model suggested the quality was no longer there, so I decided to try a Jura.

My first impression was a great machine well built, the manual was more challenging than it should have been but not hard to follow. Once I got the machine set up it's been delivering consistently great coffee, the dry grounds it produces make cleaning easy, the display makes maintenance pretty self explanatory, the operation is quiet and it's a obvious improvement over my previous machine.

On the down side, the bean storage is temperamental, after filling sometimes the beans won't feed into the grinder requiring a prod to continue and despite using a drier roast not all beans get fed into the grinder when it is "empty". The final minor irritation is that the control button requires multiple rotational clicks before it functions and how many seems to vary, altering coffee strength is particularly annoying before my first cup. These minor complaints are enough for me to like rather than love this machine.
