Customer Questions & Answers

Customer Reviews

Quality of product is very good (feels heavier then other frothers).
Christina Kerksieck
The bigger issue is the rubber gasket in the bottom of the cup is not sealed, allowing old milk to rot in a crevice that cannot be cleaned inside the cup.
Charles K.
This is really simple to use and does not require much milk top produce nice hot froth that last a long time and is very rich and thick.

*********UPDATE 12/20/2013**********

It's been almost a year since I got this so I thought I'd update my thoughts on the product.
My frother is still going strong. I haven't had the problems others have had with the interior flaking off. The teflon coating on the inside of this frother seems to be the standard coating found on most teflon pans. I treat it the same way - no metal utensils, and if I have to use a sponge to clean out the inside (which very rarely happens due to the nonstick surface)I make sure that I use the soft part of the sponge of a scotch-brite or a microfiber towel. With the proper maintenance, I don't really see the interior deteriorating for the life of the product.

Digressing from the coating - this is a really great, well-designed product that has earned a dedicated spot on my kitchen counter. I love the fact that I can wake up in the morning, and have perfectly hot, foamy milk ready by the time I have a mug of coffee ready. I use an aeropress or a french press most mornings the time it pairs perfectly with this milk frother. Clean up is also easy - I always rinse the frother out with running hot water and just leave it to air dry on the dish rack. You do have to run your finger along the edge once in awhile if there are caramalized casein from the milk, but it's still a 30 second job. Good looking, durable, and tip-top functionality - I wouldn't expect anything less from German engineering.

Additionally, I've also found that the frother is a lot more versatile than I thought it would be. Besides doing a fantastic job frothing milk, I've found that it also makes fantastic powdered drinks. Once in awhile I'll get a real hunger for chai, hot chocolate, or matcha.

I just used my frother for the first time, and i am amazed on how easy it is to use, not to mention it's probably better then the froth you get from Starbucks! It also makes the best Hot Chocolate ever! The frother has three settings, cold, med and hot, and comes with two other frother fittings that are attached on the bottom of the machine by magnets. This unit is very easy to clean and opperate. The cup is stainless steel with a non-stick coating.

I was going to buy the Nespresso frother, but after reading some of the reviews i decided on the Jura, even though the Jura frother has zero reviews. I am VERY happy with my Jura frother and highly recommend this to people that like froth with their coffees. I don't know how long the frother is going too last, but im hoping for ever! Thanks Jura!!!

Happy customer: Mario

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
We had a Nespresso frother (the smaller version which is apparently not made any longer) so were able to do a head-to-head comparison.

The Nespresso does a faster job of heating and steaming an equivalent (smaller) quantity of milk (we tested 2% milk and almond milk). It is almost silent, with a very faint sound like a babbling brook. Only one heating setting available but it produced the toasty/nutty flavor you are looking for. It is a one-piece unit with the heater integrated below the frothing cup so you have to very carefully wash by hand. There isn't storage for the separate cold milk frother so you have to find a place where you can store that and not forget about it.

The Nespresso, however, becomes unreliable when repeatedly frothing milk for several servings. Sometimes it just doesn't work; the milk doesn't froth. Maybe you are supposed to let it cool completely but it's also been unreliable from a cold start.

Now the Jura. It makes a humming sound like someone using an electric toothbrush in the next room... not obnoxious but noticeable. It takes longer than the Nespresso but produces beautifully steamed milk at your choice of warm (press the setting button once) or hot (press the button twice). It has storage for the extra frothing disks on the bottom of the heater so you're much less likely to use one. The fact that you can remove the cup to clean it is a big plus though it's not dishwasher-safe.

Neither one of the units made cold milk that was frothy enough. If that's what you want, there are lots of hand beaters that will do a better job, like the Bodum which is apparently discontinued.

The bottom line is that you should get the Jura. The Nespresso's inconsistency is a fatal flaw and it makes up for all the other slight minuses of the Jura.

I replaced a Nespresso frother that did not get hot enough. I was worried about the milk scorching and not being easy to clean. I read some reviews that were misleading. One person said something like, "An improvement would be to have a non-stick surface". It IS non-stick. You have to clean it like anything else. It is a little trickier than the nespresso one since the little spinning thing is easily removed in the Nespresso but I use a brush on this and I froth soapy water and I am so done with cleaning. There isn't any scorching. I can't imagine how that can be true. After seeing the Jura espresso machine and now this one, this has become a preferred and trusted brand for me. I brought my frother on a camping trip. I can power it on my car cigarette lighter with the use of an ac converter, my little solar generator or any available source. I made hot chocolate for everyone with added frothed milk and no one could BELIEVE how great it was to have a frother. This makes HOT HOT milk not just lukewarm. It makes all the difference if you are used to coffees from shops. I don't know who could be truly happy with a frother that doesn't make the milk hot. This is a huge price difference and savings at $60 versus over $100 for the nespresso I got at William Sonoma. They said that Italians drink their lattes not quite as hot as we do here in America. Well, I am not Italian.

Update:Sooooo, I still love my frother but there is a cause for concern lately. I use it every day. Have only had it for a few months. It has never failed to operate. I am seriously spoiled by this thing. The thing is, I was cleaning it one day and started picking at a little rubber or silicon (can't tell what) at the bottom inside.
