Editorial Reviews

From Scientific American

Looking for a place to compare Abelisaurus with Zuniceratops? This 160-page dinosaur encyclopedia can help. Each entry includes the dino's dimensions (with scaled pictures), descriptions of its favorite foods, a tidbit of trivia and a summary of what scientists know about its daily routine. Many dinos have appeared in feature films: look for a list of the movies you can see them in. Young kids will enjoy the pictures and fun facts, while the older ones have a lot of information to sink their teeth into.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the Best Dinosaur books up to date!, July 24, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Jurassic Park Institute (TM) Dinosaur Field Guide (Paperback)
This is an awesome book for dino enthusiast and/or kids who want to be paleontologists. It has information on 87 diffirent dinosaurs and also information on some non-dinosaurs. The illustrations, done by Robert Walters, are amazingly beautiful and colorful! Another great thing about this book is that it has new information about dinosaurs; like birds are now classified as a type of dinosaur and new discoveries like Nqwebasaurus. It's a great book for new dino fans aswell.

5.0 out of 5 stars For young and old dino lovers!, July 7, 2003
This review is from: Jurassic Park Institute (TM) Dinosaur Field Guide (Paperback)
I have a 5 and 7 year old. We all think this book is great! It's colorful and informative and Up-To-Date! One feature I enjoy pointing out to my kids is the little images which compare the dinosaurs size to a human child's size. That way we get an even better idea how big the creatures were.
