Product Description

Developed by Telltale Games, the creators of the hit Back to the Future: The Game, Jurassic Park: The Game is a cinematic adventure 65 million years in the making that delivers an authentic, exciting and sometimes scary Jurassic Park experience. Rooted in an original story that expands on the events of the first Jurassic Park movie, the game plays out through the eyes of key characters and progresses through fast-paced action, exploration and puzzle-solving. In-Gen staff marooned on the island, infiltrators sent to steal the Park’s secrets and mercenaries sent to rescue survivors collide, revealing that dinosaurs are not the only thing to worry about in John Hammond’s failed theme park and reserve. In addition to revisiting scenes and creatures seen in the movie, including the mighty T-Rex, cunning Raptors and the scene of Dennis Nedry’s death, players will explore new areas of the park only hinted at in the movie and encounter new prehistoric creatures, freed by Nedry’s greed. Return to Isla Nublar once more in Jurassic Park: The Game.

4.0 out of 5 stars Re-living memories in a good but budget game November 19, 2011
Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
This game is by no stretch of the word great. It's clear it was made on a budget as the graphics and animations will point out. However, it's heart is in the right place. If you ever loved Jurassic Park as a kid and want to experience a taste of that magic this is a good buy. I went into this game knowing it was budget and an adventure game to boot and while I find the extensive use of quick time events to be a bit excessive the action scenes and story make up for it. Not to mention you get to explore new parts of the park never before seen in the movies. This game is more like an interactive movie with moments of the point and click adventure games of old. Jurassic Park is not a game for everyone and those unfamiliar with the a fore mentioned adventure games of the 1990's will probably not get into it finding it to archaic in game play terms to be satisfied. People familiar with more modern approaches to this genre such as heavy rain will be in their element as it shares the same genre with out the quality of time and a budget to make it truly great. Here's a quick list for easy dissection of this review.... Read more ›

3.0 out of 5 stars so.... December 28, 2011
Fun: 2.0 out of 5 stars
I wasnt sure about getting this game or not but I then watched the first Jurassic Park movie and then I got all excited to buy this game and so I did. I regret that decision. Lets keep this simple, this game is basically one giant interactive cut-scene, that is it, nothing more. The graphics are alright, there isnt any controls except for pressing some random buttons when the screen tells you to press them and that is it, just a button match. I thought my character would be actually be able to freely move like 99% of adventure games but that didn't happen. If your hanging on a decision to buy this or not just watch the game online on youtube, either that or wait till this game goes to $5 in the bargin bin.

4.0 out of 5 stars A must for serious Jurassic Park fans. March 16, 2012
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
First of all, if you buy this expecting a game, you will be dissapointed. To truly appreciate what Telltale games has done, think of it as an interactive movie. Kind of a Jurassic Park 1 1/2. It was a great experience that I thoroughly enjoyed. This game really does give some answers that I have always wondered about from the first movie, such as the Lysine contingency and what exactly happened to the embryos. The game also allows you to explore some of the things that were to come later in the park, such as rides and a marine exhibit. A few points of the game are extremely awesome, don't want to give away too much, but let's just say that there is a knife fight with a Velociraptor. The story itself was very captivating as a huge fan of the franchise. I was let down in the fact that the only characters from the original movie in the game were Dennis Nedry (already dead), and the main character of the game, Gerry Harding, was the vet in the sick Triceratops scene from the original Jurassic Park. The game is filled with little things like that which will be apparent to the dedicated fans. For anyone else however I can't in good conscience recommend this. The gameplay is rather boring and very buggy. Those were the only things I can really think of negative, definitely not a dealbreaker for fans, but if you don't like Jurassic Park this isn't for you.

Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
I read all the reviews for this game prior to purchase. My expectations were not high, but I was hoping that I would at least have a little bit of fun playing it...I had no fun at all. Couldn't even play after an hour or so...it was just boring. Sorry...

5.0 out of 5 stars Jurassic Park Video Game October 14, 2012

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I bought this game for my 7 year old grandson who is currently going through a dinosaur obsession phase. He loves the game. It is a bit difficult for him at times but with a little help he is able to manage. We enjoy playing it as well. The graphics are amazing and game content is easy to maneuver and challenging as well. I recommend this game for all Jurassic Park and dinosaur fans.

2.0 out of 5 stars Jurassic Park - The Game ... kinda? November 28, 2011
By Travis
Fun: 2.0 out of 5 stars
STORY: 8 / 10
GAMEPLAY: 3/10
BUGGY: VERY (Especially near the end)
REPLAY VALUE: 1/10
OVERALL: 2/10

Quick Opinion: Worth it to the fans out there, but could be real boring for most gamers out there. On the flipside, a creative way to tell a story...just needed a couple more months of development time.

Full Opinion:

First off, this is a different kind of game. If you're looking for a change from the norm, this might be right up your way. It is a cool way to immerse the player into a story, but I don't think it was too well executed.

It would be good to know that I play a variety of games, thus am open-minded to new types of game play. I took this one as a challenge and stepped up to it because it was quite different from the other games I frequently play (Modern Warfare, L.A. Noire, Starcraft, etc.).

This game opens up a great deal of story that took place on the island post movie. For Jurassic Park fans this is worth sitting through. You get to see some different parts of the island, get to know the history of the island, and I mean...there hasn't been a big JP release in a while.

Action in the game comes in waves. I felt like I was doing a lot of sitting around but when the button mashing scenes came up they would prove to be a challenge here and there. One of the reviews on IGN was spot on in pointing out that the death scenes are quite hilarious (not to sound morbid or anything).

What gets this game 2 stars is the fact that it should have had a bit more work done to it.

I ran into a situation where I got to Episode 3 and wanted to go back through some scenarios in Episode 1&2 for achievements.
