5.0 out of 5 stars This was so HOT!
This book kept my interest from the first page. I didn't put it down until I completed it. To fall for a man and not know if he's one of the good guys is a hot topic!

And the first sexual encounter made MY head spin! Loved this book!

For three years policeman Brand Gallagher has been working undercover as Jake Brand for the Castellano mob. He has an ulterior motive- his brother Patrick was murdered on Castellano's orders and he wants to bring him down. But when Brand is ordered to rough up Lily Raines, who is Juror No. 7 in a case against one of Castellano's men, he balks. And when he is ordered to kill Lily, who voted Theodore "Sack" Simon guilty despite threats to both her and her frail father, he realizes he can't do it. So he and Lily go on the run, staying just one step ahead of Castellano's men. When a policeman is murdered while trying to help Lily, Brand realizes he doesn't know whom he can trust and now Brand and Lilly are on the run from the mob as well as the police. Brand and Lily aren't only fighting the mob, they are also fighting their feelings for each other and Brand swears he will do everything he can to protect the woman he has fallen in love with.

"Juror No. 7" is a well-written Romantic Suspense novel. Author Mallory Kane offers a fresh look at the juror in danger plot line. Lily Raines is a nicely drawn heroine who wants to do the right thing in convicting a guilty man but filled with fear for her elderly, frail father. Brand Gallagher is also a well written hero - tired of his life undercover with the mob, yet willing to stick it out to get the man responsible for his brother's death but having to decide whether or not to risk ruining all his hard work when he meets Lily. The romance between Brand and Lily is well done if a bit rushed. The book is action filled and readers will be on the edge of their seats and turning pages quickly to find out what happens as Lily and Brand run into one dangerous situation after another. While parts of the book may be a bit implausible (surely Lily could have told someone in the court room about the threats and Lily and Brand escape certain death a few times too many, especially in the final scene with Castellano which is truly unbelievable) but Kane is a talented enough writer to make the reader forgive the implausible parts and go along for the ride.

"Juror No. 7" is a good book to read when you want to escape from the real world.
