So you wanta be in the Rap game?,
By Lamar "Lamar" (Lamar LA, CA, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Just Another Day (DVD)
This film show you the struggle on both sides of what it takes to make it and what it takes to stay in the rap game. It pulls the curtain away from the facade of fame and shows you what it's really like. Great music with great acting and some rough locales make this a must see for the Hip Hop fan. The film sucks you in with a great story of Young Eastie trying to meet up with older rapper Amaze who has his own set of problems. Great quality video and good audio make this way above the average Hip Hop film. Best film since Paid in Full. Doesn't get any more real than this.

excellent film I thought every aspect of this film hits the mark, the acting, the script, the sets very convincing. A great story for anyone interested in the workings of the rap industry this could discourage some from entering the the rap business but I dont think this was the films purpose. This is a 5 star based on the great performances from Wood Harris and Jamie Hector both were great in the HBO series the Wire

I liked this a lot!,

I bought this movie and wasn't sure what to expect but wound up really liking it. i've always been fascinated with the rap industry and the story in this was really cool. Very interesting to see how one person's career is on the rise and what he goes through, while a big star is starting to lose his fame. All the cast is really good. Definitely worth it. I've made all my friends watch it!

Great Watch!,

This movie is sick. It really takes you behind-the-scenes in the rap industry, which is fascinating, since I want to get into music myself. The cast is also great. Wood Harris and Jamie Hector, who I already loved from THE WIRE, are great in this. Definitely recommended.

Not Worth It!!,
This review is from: Just Another Day (DVD)
I bought this movie thinking that I was going to get some much needed "Wire" action from two of the most ruthless hustlers in the series; boy was I WRONG! This movie is garbage. I hate that I wasted my $10!

This is the type of movie that comes on at 2:30am. Straight to DVD, and should go straight to the garbage. You would think that Marlo Stanfield and Avon Barksdale (Jamie Hector, Wood Harris respectively) will make this movie magical...wrong. They look like amateurs in this movie. The script is horrible, and the director is even worse. The plot and story is just hogwash. Period. Do not buy or rent. You are wasting time in your life by watching this.
