Editorial Reviews

Being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease at 38 was quite a blow to Bob Benjamin. But instead of letting the diagnosis take him down, Bob chose a different path... He recruited his friends - many of them musicians whom he had worked with in the past - to help him fight the disease. In 2000, Bob, Joe D Urso, and concert promoter and former Asbury Juke, Tony Pallagrosi founded the New Jersey-based Light of Day Foundation, whose main source of fundraising comes from the annual music festival that originated along the Jersey Shore and has grown into a worldwide series of concerts, which has raised over one million dollars for research.

This film takes you through Bob's life, from before his diagnosis to the beginnings of his incredible foundation. His story is accompanied by the music of many of the artists who have so generously donated their time and talent over the year, including "THE BOSS" himself, BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN, in support of Bob and his fight for a cure.

5.0 out of 5 stars ONE GUITAR, ONE VOICE, CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE September 13, 2012
What would do if you woke up one day, & were told that your life as you know it, would never be the

same? If you were diagnosed with a progressive, debilitating disease, one in which, while, somewhat

manageable, there is no current cure? Bob Benjamin received that news one fateful day 12 years ago

and, instead of withdrawing from the world and his family & friends, he chose to fight. With more

than a little help from his friends, The Light of Day foundation was started to help raise money

for the research of Parkinson's Disease, and to help find a cure for the 50,000 - 60,000 new people

diagnosed with the disease each year.

What began as a birthday party for Bob to help raise money for Parkinson's, has now grown into a

global phenomenon of annual concerts & benefits, that stretches from the New Jersey shores to

Glasgow, Scotland. Through the music and interviews of musicians and friends, this film takes you

on Bob's extraordinary journey as he continues his courageous fight to find a cure. It is an

incredible story of determination & inspiration, and one that should be required viewing in all

schools and libraries around the world. In the words of Bob's long-time friend, singer-songwriter,

Willie Nile, "one guitar, one voice", can truly make a difference in this world, and Bob Benjamin

and his story, prove that every day.
