Ah, Conya! What a breath of fresh air in today's industry of wanna-be's and what-the-hell?'s... lol. I slept on Conya for a long time and didn't pick up her debut, A Poem About Ms. Doss until more than a year after its release (mainly because I hadn't heard of her and the CD was so hard to find where I am). I heard about her from a friend... I took a huge risk and man am I glad I did. When I heard the voice reminiscent of a combination between Mary J. Blige and Lauryn Hill and the fact that her songs actually had lyrical content devoid of "do me now" and "lick me here", I became an instant fan. Just Because picks up flawlessly where A Poem leaves off and she utilizes the same formula that worked the first time around. I must admit that I like the version of the title track on the Soul Lounge Compilation album a little better, but I can't complain with the solid material on the album. "Stay" and "What Should I Do" are also album highlights. Conya may never be in Billboard's Top 10 but I'll be damned if she doesn't deserve to be.

I was introduced to this phenomenal young lady at a house party, where she actually sang live for one of my friends whom she used to work with or what have you......she is a great performer, she has a great sultry voice that captures you and sends you soaring to the clouds, her music is inspiring and funny, and it makes you laugh at yourself and life in general, it made me think how did she see into my house when I was actually doing exactly what the song "STAY" says......lol

She takes you spinning around on a whirlwind of emotions and I am glad I had a chance to ride her musical rollercoaster...

From the start, I'm finicky when it comes to my music. Not many people have the priviledge of entering my CD player to entertain my ears. Conya is one of the few who has, and remained there until I purchased her first CD. Hands down, this CD beats any ONE "popular song" played on the radio!!!!! If you have not purchased this CD, stop reading this review and go get it. You will not be sorry. From play to finish you will be pleasantly surprised. I HIGHLY recommend this CD.

I am just outraged that her last album, "A poem about Ms. Doss" isn't available anymore. When I first purchased it was from a 3rd party dealer and now I can't it find online anymore, I had to purchase it from a Music store in Ohio and I live in Chicago. That is crazy! I loved her 1st album so much, she has me betting on Ebay just to get it. So I'm sure if her 1st album have me feening the a drug addict, I'm sure this album is no joke. So Conya Doss fans' I suggest you get it now while you still can, because once she pulls the rug from under the online dealers, that's it!

I am SO glad I purchased this CD. I love it from start to finish. I was looking for someone with a nice voice, good music, and a different sound than what's on the radio. Conya is excellent! I'm looking forward to checking out her other CDs.

While I do wish the CD was longer, I won't complain because I can listen to each and every song - there are no filler tracks here. A solid album. You can put it in and let it play...

I love how Ms. Doss has done it again. I have both versions European and U.S. The U.S. is more commercial, the European has a more raw sound to it, more live. Overall, She just keeps getting better and better! I would have liked to hear a few more cuts like Coffee! But "Sweet Love" is the joint!! It's all good!

I listened to this CD on a long drive in my rental car. I was so excited to get it because I loved her first CD so much, but I'm a bit disappointed. The songs, while well written, excude a sameness-Same chord, same key, same sound-all sung the same way. Same music, same drum beat, same bridge. It sounds like one really long song. I expected more from this CD. It's not a bad CD by any means, just not what I thought it would be. I'm glad to see Conya back and I hope to see her live soon!

She is not well known, but hopefully soon she will be because this album is very strong. The first half of the CD is the best, especially "Stay" and "Sweet Love".

Conya Doss great talent it is a crime that she is not more well know great voice heartfelt lyrics and easy on the eyes what more could you ask for!! 100 times better then 90 percent of thease weak voiced singers that are pushed on us by mainstream radio!!

This is all I can say! This sister is deep......and she helped me get over a brokenheart with this one.
