In this book, Lil is being forced to find the right woman for a guy named Vinnie Balducci, a Sniper of Other Worldly Beings, SOB for short. He saw her for what she really was after an appearance on Manhattan's Most Wanted, think The Bachelor. If she doesn't do it or can't, in time for his mother's birthday, he'll kill her. On top of this, there's a rogue spirit loose from hell and it has possessed her assistant Evie. The body needs to be unpossessed ASAP, before the three demon bounty hunters hunting for it, find Evie and kill her to take the soul back to hell.
It was a rather fast read and left me with a blank, "Huh? That's it? Not much going on with Lil..." feeling. I managed to read it all in a day, normally I enjoy Lil more then that. I am wondering about the cover change and why it was done. I had to read the back of the book, to make sure it was a DED book, despite the fact that it says so on the front. Coverwise it just doesn't fit in and have the same feel as the other three. And small pet peeve, Killer is a BLACK cat, NOT brown and white; look in Your Coffin or Mine, it says he's a black cat... Continuity error that might want to be fixed. Sorry, I'm a cat person, I notice these things. Also, can we please wrap up the story with Ty? Either have Lil pick him and deal with the fall out from her mom, or get over him and move on. Four books of her whining about him are enough.

I love these books. Honestly this one started a little slow, but worked up, but ended with the hope of another book.

I'm surprised i'm the first review but i'll do my best. So as a fan of the Dead End Dating series and, in need of a new book i hurried to the book store. This story is my new fav in the series! It was funny, there was always the mix of drama with all these different characters and, love. I don't want to give any spoilers, but i was relieved where the story went. The only down side is waiting till next spring for the fifth book:( I hope other people enjoy this book to.

Great series! I love the main character and the stories grab you from the beginning. Comedy, romance and "who done it" all wrapped in one.

The best of the Dead-End Dating Novels,

I loved, loved, LOVED this book and I thought the ending was wonderful. This is number four in the Dead-End Dating novels, and so far, I think it's the best. At first, I didn't think I would like the mafia connection (Lil has to find the perfect woman for a hitman who offs vampires and other paranormal beings or he's going to kill her), but it proved to be funny, witty and and a delight to read. When Lil has to find a exorcist to save her friend Evie, it gets even better. Like other reviewers, I personally would have liked more romance between Lil and Ty, but then this novel is NOT really a romance. It more of a vampire comedy with a little romance thrown in. If you like fun vampire books, this series is a good one, but start at the beginning -- Dead End Dating (#1), Dead and Dateless (#2), Your Coffin or Mine (#3), Just One Bite (#4), and Sucker for Love (#5).

The fourth installment in the Dead End Dating series finds our lead character Lil, fabulously fashionable if twitty 500 year old single vamp, still the unmarried bane of her parents existence and still knee deep in trouble. This time it's a mafia like member of the SOB's who is threatening to whack her if she doesn't find him a fiance that will please his mother in 72 hours.
Meanwhile her assistant has been possessed by a demon and is being hunted by not only three incubi but by hunky bounty hunter, Ty, her on-again-off-again love. Her parents might never except that he's a made vampire but she can't stop thinking of him. I missed book 3 "Your Coffin or Mine?" but apparently I didn't miss out on much as far as the over all storyline. Lil still wants the unattainable and even at the end of this book you're not completely sure where her and Ty's romance stands. This is an entertaining way to get through the long winter nights, especially if you love Lil's wardrobe and the traumas that befall it. A bit stereotypical as far as characters go, but still worth picking up. Have fun with it!

Wow! Sexy Ty, death threats, and now demons....mm.mm.good. I gotta say that I am soooo ready for Ty and Lil to finally get together though...forever and ever. I can't help it...I am a marshmallow inside...lol! This book hits all the right notes, it has heat, humor and suspense all in one. I am a big fan of all of those and anytime I find an author who can mix them up together I will stay with them until the end!! Kimberly Raye is right up there with Evanovich in my opinion.

Lil Rocks Fashion and Vampires,

Lil has returned in another steamy vampire romance novel. Her made vamp love is still hot and in charge. Daemons have come into the picture and have been bothering Lil at work and at home. Her stellar fashionable close are covered in green slime and her heart is pulled between making her mother happy and being with the man she loves. Vampires have never been so hot and sexy.

Dead End Series is strong as ever,

This review is from: Just One Bite (Dead End Dating, Book 4) (Mass Market Paperback)
"Just One Bite" tells the story of Lil, the fabulous owner of Dead End Dating, a personal service seeking to hook up humans, vampires, werewolves and other creatures of the dark. She is filling a void in the dating market, and these preternatural beings are obviously an overlooked and undervalued demographic. There are plenty of dating stories to be told here to fill future books and the current dating/business scenes are the funniest in all four of the Dead End novels. This time Lil has a scary vampire killer/Italian mofia type man after her to find him the perfect church girl or else Lil will be staked. She also finds herself crossing paths with a demon who soon takes over the body of someone she cares for. Adding more pressure, Lil's mom is still trying to hook her up so she can marry and create baby vamps, but Lil isn't finding it easy to forget Ty, her made vamp ex-lover. When I read the first DED booking, I compared it unfavorably to MaryJanice Davidson's Betsy series. This seems to be a mistake because whereas Betsy seems to have gotten stale and lost a lot of the humor that made it soar, Lil still comes across fresh and funny. I smiled often and may have chuckled out loud a time or two. One thing I have to add, is that Raye makes mention of Brangelina and family around six or seven times over the course of the story. I remember thinking "Jeez lady, obsessed much?", but it didnt' really bother me and the last reference in the book is pretty funny. This book is just what it appears to be. A lite "chick lit" paranormal with some humor, romance, and even a little plot thrown in. Compared to the many similar vamp themed books out right now, its refreshing to find one that is still (on book four) just what is advertised.

not as funny/ironic as some of the others in the series. It was a good light read but it is not one I would have to save on the bookshelf.
