More About the Author

Born and raised in Brooklyn NY, Vincent Morrone now resides in Upstate NY with his wife. (Although he can still speak fluent Brooklynese.) His twin daughters remain not only his biggest fans, but usually are the first to read all of his work. Their home is run and operated for the comfort and convenience of their dogs. Vincent has been writing fiction, poetry and song lyrics for as long as he can remember, most of which involve magical misfits, paranormal prodigies and even on occasion superheroes and their sidekicks.

As they say in Brooklyn: Yo, you got something to say? Vincent would love to hear from you at Vincent@vincentmorrone.com

Just Breathe is my first Vincent Morrone and I can tell you and it won't be my last.

What a different yet truly well written book. This is not your typical love story. Instead it's the story of two young people, brought together by less than stellar circumstances who manage to put their dreadful pasts behind them in order to move towards a future together.

After Noah Hunt saves Cassie Ward from an attack one night, they start a friendship that surprises both of them. But something about the way Noah is able to talk Cassie down from her panic attacks and understands her past encourages her to want to know him better. But a deep dark secret and his habit of deflecting any questions directed to him about his family and past has Cassie wondering if they can ever be more than friends.

But with the help of some wonderful secondary characters, his grandfather, her father and best friends, Cassie finally gets Noah to open up to her. But when he is faced with having to share the worst secret about his life with the girl he is falling in love with, will she understand? Will she break his heart and never want to see him again? Noah has always felt unworthy of anyone's love and respect, and falling for Cassie was not planned. But sometimes fate has a way of stepping in and giving us exactly what we need when we never expected it to begin with.

This story is very emotional and there are some scenes that were difficult to read but I have to say it kept me complete riveted. I could not put it down and read I until I was finished.

A great book that is touching, emotional, sweet and gripping. Highly recommended and a huge 4.5 stars.

I'm so glad I picked up this novel! A truly great story that is well written and edited. It moves quickly and has a lot of great romance, mystery and action. We're treated to not only Noah and Cassie's story but the secondary characters who are just as interesting as well. Tyler is my fav but everyone is interesting and their stories captivated me. I loved that the experience level between Noah and Cassie was different from the current trend in most books.
I definitely recommend other readers give this book a chance. I read it in a day, unable to put it down.

I really liked the book because it showed a different side of abuse. Lots of stories are about the actual rape victims but this book had a different twist to it. I loved Cassie and Noah. I'm glad that she was a perfect fit for him. I'm looking forward to reading more stories from this author.

Vincent Morrone never disappoints, as this is also shown in his latest work, Just Breathe, a dramatic and romantic thriller about redemption and love beyond flaws.

This novel absolutely blew me away. Every time I had to bookmark it and put it down, I was alreadly looking forward to picking it back up again. It's original and full of moments that put you on the edge of your seat, throwing plot twists at you that you never see coming. Although there is a great amount of tragedy, heartache and pain in this novel, there is also a great amount of love and romance to be read. This novel is a delightful mix of drama, action, and romance, and definitely a novel I will not be forgetting anytime soon.

The characters in this novel are all one of a kind. I loved the inner conflicts and emotional problems that arose from between characters, and the fact that each and every single character had a unique story and personality. This individuality in the novel came as a surprise to me, as most novels I have read do not have this amount of detail within it. You either hate or love each character, but no matter what, the drama they create is always addicting and suspenseful.

The writing (like always) is outstanding. Morrone has a grand talent for writing with a "no-bull" initiative. There is no useless dialogue, no filler descriptions, no boring pointless rambling as many authors fail to eliminate from their writing. Morrone writes simply and effortlessly, skillfully creating novels with perfect description and details, yet saving us from lengthy pointless writing. It's unique, suspenseful, and addicting.

Overall, this novel quickly became one of my favorites. The plot was unique and fresh, the characters were raw and addicting, and the writing was spectacular. A must-read for anyone.

I struggled with rating this book 3 or 4 stars, so I'm going to say a 3.5

The story was interesting and captivating, the mystery and suspense hooked me at all the right times. And yet, I didn't love the book. I guess where I struggled was with Cassie.

Cassie is described as someone who struggles with panic attacks, and as someone who also deals with those, it just didn't ring true for me at all. The author had the IDEA of panic attacks down, but I couldn't help but think that he's never had any experience with one. Not to say he hasn't, or needs to have to portray it properly. But the story could have had a whole new level of depth if someone who has personal experience with anxiety and panic attacks had given feedback and guidance.

Of course, I could be nitpicking because that is something that is very close to me.

The cast was fairly large, and could have been kept down to a few key players, I think. But over all, they were interesting.

There was some typos and grammatical errors. But those I can forgive. So if that's going to drive you crazy, you might get frustrated reading this book. But if you're able to overlook them, then you might find yourself really enjoying the book.

Like I said, I really struggled with how to rate this book. I flipped between really liking it, to being drawn right out and not connecting with the story at all. That being said, Morrone really hits his stride in the last third of the book and I'm really glad I kept reading until that point.

In the end, an interesting mystery/suspense. Definitely some big, hard hitting topics Morrone chose to tackle in this book, and unfortunately he didn't hit all of them quite right.
