The island of San Esperito is suspected of stockpiling WMDs and it's your job to negate the threat to world peace. This little tropical paradise is about to implode as various factions vie for power. Play the island's factions off against one another; incite a rebellion among the masses; or build alliances with rebel forces and drug cartels. Explore over 250,000 acres of mountains, jungles, beaches, cities, and villages. The island can be explored by land, sea, and air -- at your disposal is one of the most varied and exciting array of vehicles ever seen in a Video game. Wealth of missions side-missions, bonus missions, and many more -- plenty of action throughout the islands Your support team, Sheldon and Kane, provide you with reconnaissance info, extraction and vehicle drops

3.0 out of 5 stars me gusta un poquito, October 17, 2006

I love the settings, the storyline premises, the environment and the carachters. I just wish that the AI wasn't as aggressive. You mostly end up in multiple cross-fire or your vehicule gets slammed from every possible direction. A little slow paste strategy would have helped the game. Anyhow it is 80 and sunny during the action, and the humidity level is very high...Rico should take it slow.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very refreshing, October 1, 2006
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Just Cause (Video Game)
One of the best-looking games yet from Eidos, the 16-rated Just Cause is set in a vast tropical world which players can explore in a tempting array of almost 100 vehicles, including Jeeps, boats and helicopters.

Behind the handsome eye candy is an equally compelling caper involving corrupt governments, dodgy South Americans and Weapons of Mass Destruction. Where the game departs from reality is that here, at least, such weapons do actually exist.

Players sign up for a tour of duty with a secret American agency charged with triggering events to overthrow the gangsters and conmen who rule San Esperito. In a detailed world spanning 250,000 colourful acres, anything goes just as long as that evil ruling party loses its twisted grip on power -- teaming up with drug barons is every bit as legitimate here as infiltrating the corridors of power. Missions can be picked off in any order and the gameplay is both robust and thoroughly involving, with a number of neat touches; fans of the Nintendo SNES classic Pilotwings will literally jump at the chance to parachute from any of the aircraft for spectacular views of the vast landscape below.

There is bound to be a sequel, because this original is so good.

2.0 out of 5 stars THE LONG WAITING IN VAIN, October 19, 2006
A Kid's Review
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Just Cause (Video Game)
I'm going to put this sweet and short, this game sucks!!!!. a just wait a complete month to play this game following the reviews of game magazines, and the screenshot that the web page of EIDOS show us, and finally i had the chance to play this in my own xbox console and just worst 30 minutes of gameplay and never seen before from now. first all the characters are weak and thin, the firepower of the gun sound bland, the physics of all the vehicles are unrealistic, this men can walk across the edge of a mountain and never fall, like the amazing spiderman or the amazing glue man. the missions are boring and foolish, etc, etc, etc. I play Scarface and spyhunter nowhere to run and this game are far beyond better that this steamy guano pile(steamy beause this early launching).
