About the Author

Tom Feiza ("Mr. Fix-It") says he is a "recovering" professional engineer. For over 15 years, his Mr. Fix-It talk radio show on AM620 WTMJ (Milwaukee , WI) and his syndicated newspaper column of the same name have helped homeowners solve their home repair problems.

Tom is a graduate of Marquette University in engineering and has over 25 years experience in operation, construction and maintenance of buildings. Tom's radio show is rated #1 in Wisconsin, his newspaper colum is in over 80 papers and he routinely appears on television. Tom also performs home inspections.

Tom presents informative and humorous seminars at home shows and makes keynote presentations for business groups, builders, contractors and homeowners.

This book does contain some useful information, but you could use a lot more. Most sections seemed to me to provide a person with less than a really good knowledge base for approaching the task, although the painting section is pretty good. There aren't very many illustrations. If you really want to be handy around the house, get yourself a bigger book with photographs--in my opinion, there are several better books, like those from Stanley or Black & Decker.
