4.0 out of 5 stars Throw back urban jazz at its best, February 14, 2010

This review is from: Just Having Fun (Audio CD)
This rocking jazz band out of the Rochester, New York was probably the least recognized jazz ensemble of the 70's and 80's. While they often found gigs around the Finger Lakes, they never received the widespread exposure they deserve. Cabo Frio is a smarter, hipper group that took a Tower of Power assemblage into a more contemporary direction but was ignored by mainstream media. The group's classic training is so noted on such songs as Hold A Note. When one listens to the tracks laid on this collection, one realizes how terrible bad and clownish Kenny G tracks are!

I remember this group from the early 80's and loved to listen to them play at the restaurant I worked at. This was a gift for the owner of the place I worked it. It was in excellent condition and got to me very quickly. Thank you so much for the memories!
