This book is in German. If you buy a book from an Angloamerican source, if the title is in English, if all description is in English, I think it would be fair with an easy-to-spot warning sign that the book is in a foreign language.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It's flows in a romantic, poetic style and I thought it was just a wonderful snap shot into a place, time & 2 artists.

This is a great book, a must-read. Patti Smith is a cultural icon because she is an extraordinary talent and an extraordinary person, and it is a tremendous gift that she has told the remarkable story of her singular life so far. This is important cultural history, first-hand. The book earned The National Book Award, and that is not given lightly.
I first ordered Just Kids from a company on Amazon that did not make it clear that it was selling a German-language edition. I can't read German. A number of reviews from others said they'd had the same experience as I with that seller. I think Amazon cleared things up, but make certain the edition you are ordering is in a language you can read, because this book is not to be missed.

The description clearly says that this book is in German. All of the people giving this book one star because they didn't read the description are annoying. As a German student, I enjoy practicing my language skills while reading one of my favorite books.
