I picked this set for two reasons, the first was the price, the second because I liked the idea of having the bucket to store the food back in. Now I wish I would have gone ahead and spent a little more and gotten a basket to put the stuff into when not in use. This is a piece of junk. The food is small (smaller than you would think it should be) it has a bunch of scrap plastic stuck around the seams were it was molded. And the cardboard stuff... well it's just terrible! Don't expect that to last more than a day.

My daughter got this for christmas. It SUCKS. about half of the "foods" are itty bitty cardboard boxes within 3 minutes she had crushed 2 of them just playing. Her dad and I decided to throw all of them away.I am disapointed by the food choices represented. Fried chicken, waffles, "pringles" style chips, crinkle french fries, chocolate bars (milk and dark) Icecream scoops, a hamburger and several caned soups. 2 lettuce leaves, 1 strawberry, 1 cabbage leaf, 1 slice of tomato, a lemon, a slice of orange, a pile of peas, 2 chili peppers and Im not sure if this is a brown egg or a kiwi *shrug* Its ok if you are looking to venture into the realm of food toys and wonder if your child is intrested but why is the can of juice the same size as the strawberry? "Just like home" If you serve your child junk/fried foods.

Ok, they plastic food, great, the cardboard box type toys a little too weak. Perhaps a harder cardboard or make the cardboard boxes so they can not open might work better. My boys have already destroyed one of the box type parts of the toy, but they love their play food.

My daughter loves play food and this play food is no exception. However, the pieces are very small and not very durable. This really doesn't bother me because I know that she will probably lose bits and pieces here and there and we will end up buying new food at some point anyway. Also, I have a feeling that she will find a way to break or scratch up the more durable wooden food anyway. (Let's not even get into the possible injuries that could be caused by large, wooden carrots being thrown at younger siblings, pets, windows etc.)
