This cd is a reflection of Asher's versatility whether it be a hit for the ladies or a completely made-up story concerning relationship drama.

Even if your not a big rap fan you should still buy the album just to listen to the lyrics.

The debut effort from a young lyrical-styled rapper, "Just Listen E.P" is filled with tracks that feature meticulously crafted rhyme schemes, smart, entertaining anecdotes, and insightful adventures into the mind of a talented young artist. This record is honest and real, perhaps this is why Asher is rapidly becoming a force to be reckoned with within the music industry. Many compare his voice and delivery to that of Eminem, while the creativity is evident, the ranting, raving and monotony often associated with Em's records remains to be seen within Asher's debut. Ash keeps the listener on the edge of their seat, hanging on every rhyme, while displaying his versatility throughout the entire album. He possesses the ability to produce bass thumping tracks that can rock any party, or creative, more poeticly laced songs, while at the same time exhibiting the ability to compose intimate, chilling tracks like "Alone", scadalously clad with nothing more than an acoustic guitar and a voice that creates an addictive sound to vibe to. This album doesn't discriminate, it caters to fans of all music, if you consider yourself a fan of music.... YOU NEED THIS RECORD FOR YOU COLLECTION!! As Ash matter-a-factly puts it- "If you ain't listenin', you missin' out..."

You would never think that Asher is a fast growing aspiring rap artist when you chill with him. He came to me with this CD and shortly there after I popped it into my CD drive on my computer and within seconds was taken on an emotional roller coaster with his debut album "Just Listen". He takes you into the deep confusing realm of love but can sky rocket you up into the sky so high above all of the violence and crime that rap portrays now a days. This album is sure to bring sensation to the brain because not only is it filled with lyrics that boggle even the smartest of people but the beats that accompany the lyrics are fantastic. Whether you like the smooth punch of bass, the crisp sound of the high hat, or the fluid like vibes that an acoustic guitar brings to the rap industry you'll be sure to love all aspects of Asher's Work....

Asher really brings some material to the table on this EP. I love the critical look he takes at the Hip-Hop genre on "Yea Right", it reminds me of the video for the old Roots track "What They Do". I also enjoyed "Be Okay" and the 'storytelling' quality of "Troubled Life". The EP is solid all-around, but the clear standout for me is "Alone". I commend Asher for the risk he takes on the track. The best way to describe it: An emotional, acoustic guitar driven track about a relationship that really reveals Asher's true colors. The risk taken on this song is more than worth it, as "Alone" has the potential to be both a radio hit and the song you play to help get over the person that broke your heart. The song has catchy and creative guitar work; my favorite on the EP, hands-down. A great overall release from a talented young man.

I've heard Asher rap before he was producing albums, and no matter who you pair him up with he blows me away every time. Whether its "spittin words" with friends at parties or recording his first song for the album with some of the best rappers/singers/musicians in the business; he always puts everything into it. This has been his dream for so long and listen to him go!! I'm so proud of you!!! Even if your not a big rap fan you should still buy the album just to listen to the lyrics. There so carefully thought out and tell a story. I recommend this CD for anyone..rap fan or not...BUY THE CD!! You won't regret it.

This cd is a reflection of Asher's versatility whether it be a hit for the ladies or a completely made-up story concerning relationship drama. Asher possesses a natural talent with words which became apparent years ago, specifically with the track "Situations" on his Ezia Sed Den Dun cd. his lyrics have depth and he enjoys making people think while listening to his music. but dont you dare call him the next Eminem, he's the next Asher Roth.
