Just Me And My Little Brother,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Just Me and My Little Brother (Little Critter) (Pictureback(R)) (Paperback)
Me And My Little Brother is a great children's book for ages 5-7. The book is about a young critter and his little brother doing all different things together. The two of them have snowball fights, ride bikes, and have many more fun adventures together. There is not much of a lesson to learn, but to be nice to young kids and to help build a strong relation ship with your siblings. On a scale from one to ten I give it a seven.

This book is about 2 brothers that do every thing together Pick apples, Play space wars, and everything. They scare away bullies to. They did everything together. I would recommend this story to two brothers. The moral of the story is love them while you got them.

This book is excellent for teaching small children about the limitations and possibilties of a younger sibling. It is also one of the only books about two brothers available for very young children. When my son was disappointed to learn that he would not be receiving the younger sister he had yearned for, this book was great in getting him excited about a little brother. No masterwork of fiction, this, but it does get its point across loud and clear, and that is what matters with this sort of children's book anyhow. Some of the activities anticipated by Little Critter may not be those that every parent wants to encourage, but again, that probably isn't the point.

I bought this book when I first started showing with baby number two, and my firstborn loved it. I knew I was having another little boy, so this book was perfect for our situation. He still loves to read it! The illustrations are vibrant, the text is easy to understand, and it is a quick read! We have a lot of the Little Critter books, and my son loves each and every one of them. Also check out "The New Baby" by Mercer Mayer. That baby is a little girl, and my son loved it just as much as this book. I recommend both to get the firstborn child accustomed to the idea of a sibling on the way! We also enjoyed Kevin Henkes "Julius, Baby of the World" to get our son ready for the new arrival. They are all wonderful books.

The missing little brother,

As with all Little Critter books...this one had a wonderful story.
My boys are big fans of all the Little Critter books. We have a large collection and have watched Little Critter grow throughout the years. When I saw this book about Little Critter's little brother I was so pleased the family had another sibling to add to future stories. Unfortunately, we never heard from the Little Brother again. Was there a 'Just My Little Brother Who Died' book I missed?

...and I don't know why. (He doesn't seem to especially love his little brother, but he loves this book. Kidding. But they don't always get along very well.)
This book is a daydream of all the things the brothers will do together, just the two of them. Very sweet, adorable Mercer Mayer. I like this one much better than most of his other books. There's no sassiness in it. I wish I could be specific about why this book is such a hit, but I can't figure it out.

I like this book because i love how he dreams of all these different things he can do with his little brother when he gets older. I was like that when i was littler too. And now i have a little brother too. And i love him so much. Im thankful to have him as a brother.

A great book for brothers, they get to see how special (and great) it is to have an older (or younger) brother.

Just me and My little Brother,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Just Me And My Little Brother (Turtleback School & Library Binding Edition) (Golden Look-Look Book) (School & Library Binding)
This book was about a boy and his little brother who does everything together. Like go to the orchard and pick apples, play space wars, stay up late and watch spooky shows on TV, eat the most Ice Cream and Cake at birthday parties, go trick-or-treating together, and build a snowman just him and his little brother. And at the end it has a cute short ending, which I'm not going to tell. You will just have to read it for yourself.I liked this book because it has a cute ending, and a lot of older brothers or sisters don't really want to hang around there younger brothers or sisters but this book shows that it isn't really that bad. I like a lot of books by Mercer Mayer. I used to read them all the time when I was in elementary school when they weren't checked out already. This is a good book for kids and adults to read. But I mostly recommend this book for younger kids. |
