Nice Intro to Dwight's Music, March 26, 2009

If you don't know Dwight's music, by all mean get this as a short but satisfying introduction! Not all of his many hits, but a representative sample of his first number one (I Sang Dixie) to his number one with Buck Owens (Streets of Bakersfield) to a great duet - and cover of a Chris Hillman/Gram Parsons song - with K.D. Lang (Sin City). There's a good balance between originals and covers. Dwight can write songs with the best of them, and the mandatory, blazing "Guitars, Cadillacs" is on here along with his homage to friend Buck Owen's Bakersfield sound, "Little Ways." If you like country, rock, honky tonk, Americana or even if you just have ears, you simply cannot go wrong with this CD. And it will only whet your appetite for more.
