I'm reading the reaction of a couple complaining about the new formula of this product. Well, if you know how to use this product you wont have to worry about itching or anything that irritate your skin.
Here's how to handle it:
1- Shave the area that you will not dye on your face (any excess hair around the needed to be dyed)
2- Use any kind of oil and apply it on the area not to be touched on your face such as olive oil. What this does is it prevents the color from spreading away from the beard and into the clear skin you don't want to dye.
3- Take a shower after four minutes only (not five as recommended by the company) This will take care of the itching problem.
4- For some, this may conclude the method. For others however, the coloring seems very obvious to others and they will notice it which sometimes means embarrassment specially if you just started to dye your beard. What to do? very simple:
Use LUX soap with rough small towel (face towel) and start applying on the beard and start rubbing a bit hard allover the beard for one minute or two. Wash again with warm water and the natural look is back.
Always use LUX soap to lighten the color intensity on your beard with rough face towel.

The old formula was much better. Even the old brush supplied was better. I still use the old brush. I need to use this product twice a week. I use it Monday and Thursday morning before going to work. It does not have staying power. I also use it to touch up my head hair roots. I find the tube does not have much product and I need to buy it frequently. Also the product goes on my skin and I need to use alcohol pads to get the stains off. The product is not very good but this is what is out there just for men.

i just tried it a yesterday-just for men in 'Ash Brown'--so i brought it home and put some on my inner elbow for a skin test for 2 hours-(your supposed to skin test for 48 hours) and felt nothing--so i went ahead and used it--my beard is kinda thin and gray, so i wanted to put some on the sideburn area--it matched my hair color perfect i think--i like it so far

I have been using this to color my head hair for years. This beard color works equal to the hair color, plus its cheaper. The tube color and base are MUCH less messy than any liquid coloring. Still need to be a bit careful. By buying from Amazon I save about 35% compared to the local drugstore.

This product is easy to use and looks great but since they changed the formula several years back it is almost a guaranteed bad reaction. I stopped using it for a year and recently picked it up again because they aren't many alternatives. After using it three times it has irritated me all three times and each subsequent time is worse than before. This will be my last attempt at it. I'm seeking something that doesn't tear my face up. Right under my lip it's weeping and oozing and just nasty. It burns and itches. Beware...I followed all the instructions and still this happens.
