2.0 out of 5 stars A Change of Pace changed for the worse, September 26, 2009
This review is from: Just No Better Way (MP3 Download)
I was listening to some old A Change of Pace today and thought I'd check in on the band and see if they've done anything recently. I was appalled.

Their debut was excellent, and their second album, while significantly more pop-rock, was still amazing with catchy hooks and great vocals (for an increasingly more emo band). Now that they've lost their lead singer, Torry Jasper, it's not the same band. Now A Change of Pace is just another generic emo band in a sea of countless generic emo bands with the same style, same corny lyrics, and nasally, whiney vocalist. Despite the fact A Change of Pace will surprise you with some great music here and there, and even some excellent solos (something hard to come by with bands in this genre), this is the saddest news I've heard all week.

So who should buy this album, you may ask:

Well, if you own all of the albums by Fall Out Boy, Boys Like Girls, Just Surrender, Amber Pacific, Panic! At The Disco, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, and The All-American Rejects and think to yourself, "MAN, I JUST CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF THE SAME CRAP OVER AND OVER AGAIN," by all means, buy A Change of Pace's new album.

How terribly depressing this is.

1.0 out of 5 stars What happened to this band?!?, July 2, 2008

This band has totally fallen off. The first album was pretty good... then with some direction and a little polishing they killed it on the second. I dont know who advised them to switch singers and go soft but whoever that was just ruined thier career. I can't believe how bad the lyrics are on this album. If you want to waste money then see for yourself but if you want to hear a change of pace when they were good, save yourself the time and just buy the first two albums. Sadly this is the end of a change of pace.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just no better music out there right now, May 5, 2008

Who knew this was even coming out? wow. out of nowhere comes probably the best "emo" release of the year, so far. a little mellower than the two albums they released on now-defunct label, Immortal Records, this album will have you singing along with its' chiming melodies and infectious hooks!
buy it now-don't even think about it!
