This book is about a girl name Ethel. She goes over to Margie Carson's house because Ethel's mom, Miz Mary, is neglecting Ethel. Miz Mary can't handle Ethel anymore and is leaving to get a job. Margie's mom invites Ethel over for one night, but one night turns into weeks! Ethel is driving Margie and her sister, Alberta, nuts! Ethel breaks Margi's sea shells her dad gave her! At church Ethel acts like she is an angel, sitting on Margie's mama's lap! So a few more days pass and still no Miz Mary! Margie's father comes home from work one Saturday, and is sitting on the couch when Ethel walks up and sits on his lap, and sleeps on his shoulder! Margie thinks Ethel is going to take over her family! One day the whole family, including Ethel, go fishing. During this Ethel is driving Margie mad! She fallows her around! Finally Margie gets so fed up with Ethel she runs and hides! Her father finds her and talks to her about Ethel, and what her father says will blow your mind!!!
