Perfect for adults,

This review is from: Just So Stories: for Little Children (Oxford World's Classics) (Paperback)
This new edition of Just So Stories is fantastic! One note: this edition is the published version of Kipling's original stories, word for word. Older editions were edited for certain words now considered offensive, particularly racial terms. This new edition, however, includes such words in an effort to protect Kipling's original syntax, a fact which customers planning on buying for younger children should consider. That being said, for adult readers this is a fantastic edition that includes Kipling's orginal drawings and captions as well.

This is a fine eBook. It has the illustrations from the original, and a somewhat lengthy but interesting introduction about Kipling. However, IT DOES NOT HAVE A CLICKABLE TABLE OF CONTENTS, so you have to page through the book to find each story. I created bookmarks at the start of each story, so that I have my own ToC, but really - it is annoying to buy a book of short stories and find that there is no way to easily access each story. That is the reason for the low rating. Now that I've done the work to organize, I'm quite pleased.

This is an old book of Rudyard Kipling's Just So Stories but it is perfect for me. I love the feel of the old hard covered book and it has all the original stories and pictures in it just like I remember. I didn't want a new version with modern pictures; this one is perfect.

I loved stories such as, "How the Camel Got His Hump" while I was a growing up. I was so excited to introduce these to my 2 year old son as a new reading tradition (my mother and I read often). This book is annotated and illustrated and, as mentioned in reviews prior, word for word the stories (some words may be offensive but I read all stories/books before I read them to my son and I can probably think of other words in place of these or just omit them all together).
These stories are cute, fun and answer (humorously - not literally) some of the most wild questions a child might have about animals and nature. It is a paperback (I wish it was board) so my son won't be able to be unsupervised with it for until he can control his desire to "destroy, rebuild, destroy!" :D I look forward to many nights of adventures with these awesome tales and to hopefully, hand them down, yet again.

This book was received promptly.
It was all I expected it to be - stories for children by Rudyard Kipling. I read two of them to a second grade class and they wanted more. All around good literature for children.

It was very pleasing for me to introduce Rudyard Kipling to my grandaughter with this appealing volume of the Just So stories.
I first read them many, many years ago as a child thirsty for such mythic-style stories. However, I do miss the story of the White Seal which was part of the stories I had read. A memorable and touching study from Kipling at that time. However, my favourite has always been "The Cat Who Walked By Himself." Kipling's prose is so poetic and attuned to a child.

This is indeed a quite interesting book, the best story for me is The Butterfly That Stamped.
On the other hand, I was surprised by the author's great patience in writing How the Alphabet Was Made.

This is a Delight.I never read Children's Stories or Books as a Child. Was a advanced Reader.Charming. Even though Mr.Kipling sent his Son to War and never returned, the Stories helped Him to Forgive Himself. These do quell those Moments of Awkwardness.A person can read at Any Age.Regardless of Writer's Personal Life,{which Highly Recommend, Do Not Do So}these are Fun. Capricious.Irreverant and just Lovely.A person even read outloud to me to convince Should Try for the First Time.Glad I did.Am partial, since Everyone have been involved in 7 Other Books. You know Them Well. This is a Journey. Then, off to C.S.Lewis.
