This book is a MUST read for every woman from 8 to 88 - it s inspiring and enlightening and will help you understand the meaning of true beauty - I have spent most of my life on TV, under the scrutiny of cameras and I m so surprised at how much I didn t know before reading this book! David has shed light and exposed myths that will help you stay young and not spend a fortune doing it - simply put - you and your face can t afford to be without this book. --Forbes Riley, Health & Fitness Expert/ National Fitness Hall of Fame Inductee and founder of SpinGym

This book is a must read! Learning to distinguish the difference between creating beauty (don t need to) and supporting our beauty is important. Thanks David for guiding us away from neurotic, self obsessed beauty care to an intelligent, rational approach! --Holly W. Hadley, MD

Product claims are not as scientific as you think, page 56 tells you how to read between the lines.

Wow was this book, if you can call it that at only a few pages long, a disappointment. While there is some good info, like the soap content in most moisturizers, much of the promised information is just not there. Instead you are directed repeatedly to go hunt for it over at his website. In fact the entire pamphlet, which it is more aptly called, reads like an extended advertisement to his website justaskdavid.com. To add insult to injury the information is not accessible even there unless you give you email address to get yet another "free" e-book that promises to have all the info you just paid $10 to $15 for. IMO Pollock learned the art of the bait and switch he is so want to criticize too well. Caveat Emptor indeed. Save your money folks.

This book will open your eyes to all the false information out there about beauty products. I stopped working for a cosmetic company when they told me to give out as many samples as possible since the samples were of a better quality and this was how to get your customer hooked.

Stop the Lies is your guide to buying healthy skin care. Are cosmetics FDA approved? Page 66 will tell you. Learn about the misleading marketing called cosmeceuticals on page 55. Product claims are not as scientific as you think, page 56 tells you how to read between the lines. Is your moisturizer drying your skin? Page 90 tells about the residue left on top of your skin after applying moisturizer. Stop the Lies will save you money by teaching you how to pick healthy skin care on a budget because more expensive does not mean a better product.

As a professor of Women's Psychology, I frequently look for relevant material that helps us to understand how women our portrayed in media and our culture. This book is informative and dead-on when it comes to beauty, safety, and women in the United States. Information is power and this book provides both! Highly recommend!

This guy sounds like an egomaniac. The books says nothing but is a big sales pitch for his products. It is so stupid and light weight reading that I would never buy his products based on his lack of scientific fact or professional clinical writing or approach. He is simply an opportunist and not credible. Sorry David who needs to ask you?
