5.0 out of 5 stars The Right Stuff!
What can possibly be said about Blake that hasn't been said before? He clearly is a remarkable and extraordinary musician that is strong and true and writes and plays from the heart. As you listen and hear Blaike play, you will feel your own heart melt.

1.0 out of 5 stars Seriously tepid.
Another album to make you ask "Who told this guy he could sing?" Blaike tries to deliver a Cat Stevens-ish vocal style on his disc, but he misses by about 300 miles. Instead, his attempts at sounding "soulful" and "meaningful" by singing his lines in a mush-mouthed style in which he often drops the last letters off of words are not only sad, but also laughable. Blaike...

Blaike also has a way of twisting his words into completely unrecognizable nouns, verbs, and adjectives. More than once was I scratching my head and playing back various lines on this disc trying to decipher what Blaike was singing. If you can call it singing. More often than not, Blaike groans out his words that reminds one of all the bad singers who used to appear on Star Search.

The music is just bland. Blaike likes to dress up his songs in double-tracked smooth guitars that run out of chords during the first song. The other nine tracks repeat the formula. Occasionally, Blaike gets brave and pulls out his tacky drum machine to beef up the tempo, but every time he does, the beats seem to disappear under his lyrical mush and pained singing. Not a great album by any means. Blaike could probably have a killer mall or lounge act nevertheless.
