This review is from: Just One of Those Things/Let's Face the Music (Audio CD)
Just One of Those Things/Let's Face the Music is a great twofer CD that has all the songs from two of Nat King Cole's record albums entitled Just One Of Those Things and Let's Face The Music. The sound quality is excellent; and the artwork is fantastic.

The CD track set begins with Nat King Cole singing his heart out on "When Your Lover Has Gone;" Nat sings this along with a fine Billy May arrangement that makes great use of the brass. "Who's Sorry Now?" gets a rather jazzy, upbeat arrangement that is distinctly different from the version sung by Connie Francis; Nat takes this song and places his own stamp on it with his incredible timing. The arrangement really works well for this ballad. Listen also for "Once In A While;" this love song sparkles like gold when Nat sings it to perfection!

"Don't Get Around Much Anymore" has a stunning arrangement for the brass; and if you listen for the piano you'll realize how well the piano works for this number. Nat King Cole performs "Don't Get Around Much Anymore" with panache and I love every minute of it. "Just One Of Those Things," the title song of the first record album, again gets a spicy hot musical arrangement while Nat sings this without a superfluous note. Nat's voice really is in great form here.

"The Party's Over" gets the royal treatment as Nat croons this so well; and there's "When My Sugar Walks Down The Street." "When My Sugar Walks Down The Street" has Nat on organ--awesome! The musical arrangement lacks nothing--it's all THAT good.

"I'm Gonna Sit Right Down (And Write Myself a Letter)" shines brilliantly when Nat sings this like the pro he always was! Nat sings this with heart and soul; the upbeat melody and flavor belie the rather melancholy lyrics. "Cold, Cold Heart" also features Nat's vocals squarely in the spotlight--right where they belong!

"Too Little, Too Late" features Nat delivering yet another ballad with great sensitivity; and the album ends so nicely with Nat performing "Let's Face The Music And Dance." This classic pop song sounds so fine; it makes a great ending for this twofer CD.

Nat King Cole fans, get this today for your collections! People who enjoy classic pop vocals with a jazzy twist will also treasure this album.
