Excellent in so many ways,

Another reviewer called this a "genetically engineered horror" (and the same review gave high ratings to Poptarts!- not that they taste bad, but they are pretty high in sugar and artificial stuff). I believe the name of the company is "Just Tomatoes" with the name of the product being "Just Rasberries". Freeze dried fruit is hardly a genetically engineered horror. It is JUST RASBERRIES-nothing else added and very good in taste and very healthy. I like the rasberries and the strawberries best. I have used them in my cereal, as a snack out of the box, in yougurt and in smoothies. If you like to have certain fruits when they are not in season and don't care for frozen, these will fit the bill.

These disapeared fast in my house. They are great in granola or any breakfast cereal. They are also very good plain (but I prefer the blueberries from the same company)

I bought these because I love raspberries but hate to pay the high prices for fresh ones in the store, and I was not disappointed: they are packed with very concentrated raspberry flavor, and nothing else (no preservatives, artificial colors, etc.).
Since the dried raspberries have a texture not unlike week-old popcorn or packing material when popped in the mouth right out of the container, I don't favor these as a ready-to-eat snack. But you simply can't beat them for adding flavor to baked goods in place of fresh or frozen raspberries. Because they've been dried, they contain all the flavor and aroma of fresh raspberries but do not break up or get mushy when stirred into cake batters (my co-workers absolutely love these in chocolate or red velvet cupcakes, especially when I toss in a few chocolate chips as well, and I don't have to mess around with frosting the cakes) or fresh apple pies (these raspberries hold their own against slices of granny smith and gala apples very well in the process of mixing the pie filling, but they're wonderfully soft and juicy after baking!). That's all I've tried so far, but these recipes have been so successful that I'm requested to just keep making them, and may soon have to re-order to replenish my supply of "Just Raspberries."

I first had these in Alaska, and when I returned my taste buds couldn't stop thinking about them! They are a great alternative to "fast foods."

These are really great. They are very sour when eaten alone, but amazingly good in cereal or oatmeal. A great fruit to have on hand, especially when they are out of season.

I love the way the fruit rehydrates in the milk in my breakfast cereal. Absolutely delicious.

A staple in my kitchen,

I bought these because I love berries and like to have them in my cereal in the morning and even those cereals that do come with berries haven't got enough fruit for my taste.
I was very pleased with these little fruits right away. The box they come in is huge. It's really good value for money, especially considering how much you can end up paying if you buy fresh raspberries. They are perfect and delicious -of course they are dry, and the texture makes them feel different from fresh ones (I read some reviews that complained about them being dry but, hey, they are dried fruit!) and you have to get used to them, somehow, because their feeling in your mouth is unlike foods I normally eat. But they taste tangy, just sweet enough and very fruity. There is no sugar added, hence no unpleasant aftertaste and they keep very well too, as long as you close the box. Given the large size of the box, I have tried many different recipes that included them. I have baked cakes, muffins, cupcakes and brownies with them, sometimes with chocolate. I have soaked them in a bit of vodka, frozen them and poured melted white chocolate over them (sounds weird but it's delicious, it's like home made raspberry truffles). And I have of course added them to my cereal. All of these work very well. I am not a big fan of fruit in salads, but I would imagine they'd work well for that, too. My husband is also a big fan and he is less fussy than I am and just eats them out of the box, as if they were (much healthier) chips. I prefer them with something else like milk and cereal, yoghurt or in baked goods, but I am glad to have found something so healthy that he likes so much -dried raspberries, as well as other dried fruit, makes for very good, nutritious snacks with a fraction of the calories of many traditional bars or chips. My 7 year old niece seems to adore them -she was attracted to them because of the color, which is very bright and inviting, and she quickly fell in love with them for the taste. My supply is nearly over and I am ready to stock up again. Absolutely fantastic product!

My husband loved these so much on his cereal, and they are healthy. As for me, I don't like raspberries as much as he does because of the seeds. The seeds are also evident in the freeze dried variety. The taste is very good, though.
Someone else mentioned the dryness of these berries, but that is to be expected. I would not snack on them alone. They are much better suited to yogurt or cereal with milk on it. Someone else mentioned baking, so I think they might also make a good addition to muffins or even pancakes.

I bought these because my husband loved the Just Blackberries so much. We both agree: These are great!!! He eats them as a snack between meals, I put them in yoghurt - yum! If you love berries, these are a wonderful alternative when they are out of season.

all natural; not entirely sweet; light, brittle, yet delicious.
I found the berries too dry. They eventually build up on the gums (dryness coming into contact with saliva), kind of like putting a box of gelatin mix in your mouth. I did like them up to the point I had to stick my finger in my mouth to clear build up away from my cheek and gum. another issue for me was all the powder at the bottom of the container. |
