5.0 out of 5 stars Hey, Hey, It's the Monkees!, July 2, 2000

Okay, okay! I know what everyone is thinking.....big deal. But considering that Micky was my first crush ever (I was 6 at the time), I love this video! It's a chance to see the guys again....ALL of them! I missed Mike in the 1980's tours. It's good to see him again with the rest of the guys. Even though they aren't 20-something anymore, I still think they are the best. In an age where music as sunk to new lows and MTV is almost unwatchable anymore, it's nice to see a video that I can enjoy. I loved Headquarters when it came out. I enjoyed listening to them play their music, and I love listening (and watching) them now! I'm only sorry that the Monkees didn't make it to my hometown to do a concert. I would have been front row center for it! Mike, Micky, Davy, and Pete.....don't ever listen to critics.....it's the fans that count! AND WE LOVE YOU!

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm not a Monkee fan but this is fun, September 29, 2004
This review is from: Just Us [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I happened to catch this on TV years ago. The Monkees got together for one more episode of their show and they made it seem as if the show had never ended! This was like the 500th episode or something like that !I loved that idea! I'm not a Monkees fan but I have to admit this is a clever and funny special. The guys are all in good form and the tunes from the Just Us album featured in this sound like good stuff to me. I can't believe some critics on here are picking on the Monkees for being childish at times! LOL! It's the MONKEES people! Sure there are plenty of enjoyable moments of goofy stuff in this TV special and that's the charm of it. It's often as silly as the Monkees TV show was back in the old days and as always it's clear that the boys know just how silly it all is. I also notice that a lot of folks were unhappy with the Monkees getting together for one more half hour episode and pretending that the show had been running all those years. I'm sorry folks but that was a very entertaining idea. This special may be just another half hour episode to some but to me this is a winner. Even a non-fan like myself will have to admit that coming back for one more trippy episode was clever. This special taught me that the Monkees still can entertain and are always worth a look and a listen.

4.0 out of 5 stars That was then this is now..., September 17, 2000

To coin a frase,"That was then and this is now" Which I loved. Watching the old Monkees show reruns is great fun. But they are not 20 something anymore and neather am I. I throughly enjoyed watching the 50 something guys being who they are now. Still lively, funny, handsome, talanted, and after these years can pull off being The Monkees. The look behind the scenes was great, watching Mike,Peter,Davy and Mickey working together to create their Monkee magic. The music video scenes were up to date, energetic, and truly enjoyable. The only thing I can find falt in is more is always better. It is my opinion that anything worth doing is worth doing for at least an hour....
