"your time will come...John Powell!", June 21, 2001
This review is from: Just Visiting (Audio CD)
From an earlier film "Les Visiteurs" (French), director Jean-Marie Poire gives the cast...Jean Reno (Thibault) Christian Clavier (Andre) and Christina Applegate (Rosalind/Julia)...another crack at this story of time travel, fantasy, 12th Century nobleman and Chicago USA. Poire gave the music assignment to John Powell, who in the past served up "Face Off" (1997), "Antz" (1998), "Chicken Run" (2000) and "Road To El Dorado" (2000), all very successful.
Powell's score blends shades of "Antz" and "Chicken Run", overlaying counterpoints of a medieval nature in a mystical tone (what else, when dealing with a knight and wizard's), wonderful orchestration, choral and guitar cues...the big surprise is the last track as we go disco, "YOUR TIME WILL COME", co-written by Powell, Gavin Greenaway and Jeff Pescetto...featuring the vocals of Kudson Kai, would be a great single...so check out your "dance-card" and put on your dancin' shoes, your time has come!
Total Time: 36:16 on 27 Tracks ~ Varese Sarabande 302-066-239-2 ~ (2001)

A+ effort from Powell, March 12, 2003
This review is from: Just Visiting (Audio CD)
IF you loved "Building the Crate" from Chicken Run, or "Wonders of the New World" from Road to El Dorado, both spectacular peices from John Powell, you will love this wonderful effort as well. Just Visiting is the perfect blend of heroic, catchy and sometimes just plain fun score music. The bonus track "your time will come" is a wonderful finisher to a very surprising album.

Great movie and Soundtrack, April 19, 2001
This review is from: Just Visiting (Audio CD)
I seem to be one of the few people who actually enjoyed the movie. Thus I had to find the soundtrack. Some of the music (orchestral as someone else mentioned) is really pretty good... Especially the tracks in which Thibault is fighting/running to his "chambers"... I've got to find and watch the French original (Les Visiteurs) now
