Sultry and Classic,

This review is from: Just the Way You Like It (Audio CD)
Out of print, but not out of date, Tasha Holiday's debut album could be a highly underrated effort. What accounts for the great music on this album is Holiday's vocal control and mature poise. While many of the songs are ballad-like in their approach, they are never over sung and compliment Tasha's strong vocal ability. The chances of finding this album in any store, including bargain stores, is nearly impossible. That is unfortunate, because many people should be made aware of what true sensuality is. Tasha Holiday's smooth, r&b sound never comes off contrived or boring. Those expecting a club-ready album will be dissappointed, because a considerable amount of the album treads heavily on slow, rollin-in-your-ride jams. That is not to say that there aren't any good fast songs that you can groove to. 'Just the Way You Like it', Tasha's lead single and to my knowledge the only one to garner her any recognition, is an instant New Jill Swing classic. Complimented by Kelly Price's background vocals on many tracks, Tasha Holiday's album is a lush, r&b classic, which unfortunately is now rare and hard to find. if you have the chance to cop this record, do not hesitate. Miss Holiday has poise, class, and a vocal prowess that is emotive, yet subdued. A definite must have.

Good CD!!,

This girl can sing, but some of the songs are just fillers. A few really show her style, others are just her singing: nothing to stamp the song as "hers" any female singer out now could take several of these virtually unheard of songs and make it a hit, that's what Tasha did not do. It's still not a waste of your money, the good songs make it worth it!
