While this work was a fun read with some new Al Davis tales, it would have been greatly helped with just as much detail and attention spent on the years of decline 1995-1999 and 2003-Present. Again, worth the money, but some stories missing.

Wow! I was amazed on how much I learned. This book tells you everything about Mr. Davis. He himself before he died helped write this biography. He wanted fans to know the history of today's NFL. Most of the book is a history of the AFL (American Football League) and how he helped get the merger with the NFL in 1966. He was the most hated but most winningest guy in football. As Tom Flores said at the top of the cover, this is a book that reveals the true Al Davis. It talks about the Raiders good years, as well as the down years in the past decade. Al Davis is missed by his family, the fans, the Raiders, and the NFL. This book is a great read, I never wanted to stop. Thank You to Mr. Davis and Mr. Olderman on writing this book. I loved it and you will too.

The book is pretty thin. For a book that started off as the Al Davis authorIzed biography, it is pretty light on new inside information. The story of Al Davis the story of the Oakland Raiders. Any die hard Raider will want to read it for the sake of completeness. But a used book price or over stock bargain bin price reflects it's true value

IMHO . . . . . The Ribowski Slick or the Glen Dicky books are the better read. I heard from a good source, Al thought the Glen Dickey was pretty fair about it'subject.

A must for any Raiders fan. Very insightful. I've been a Raiders fan my whole life and I learned quite a lot about the building of the team and the formation of the AFL and integration into the NFL.

Love Al and the Raiders, but this book is a disservice to his memory. It is basically a white wash. Search out grittier "unauthorized" biographies if you want something closer to reality ...
