Best of the bunch, July 25, 2007

I have had this album and downtime for several years, I just recently went crazy on Amazon and bought everything else I could find. All of his songs have at least one lyrical great and many feature melodies you hum later not knowing or remembering the source. The song "Special Delivery" haunts me everyday, I absolutely love it without being able to define why. I bought my daughter the Book of Leviathan and she really likes it. From the first time I heard "Sort Of" by Slapp Happy I knew I was in for an aural treat. Just Woke Up is starker in many ways than his other releases, if you want comfortable get "King Strut" otherwise venture inside the quirkiness of this his best, in my opinion, release.
