Fans flocked to her angelic voice with her debut solo album, Don't Wait, over three years ago on BEC Recordings. On March 9, 2010 fans get another taste of Adie with her sophomore release, Just You And Me, which features a collection 10 worshipful songs, including some well knows tunes as well as a few new surprises. Adie describes the music as more "organic and raw" than her solo debut. This album lives a bit more in the "worship" category. I've enjoyed Adie's music since she was the lead singer of The Benjamin Gate and since she's been married to Jeremy Camp, her background vocals on his acoustic live album and also Jeremy's song "Surrender" have been captivating.

First song and lead single "Where Could I Go" is a great example of the vertical worship style and prayerful lyrics that are found throughout this great album, which I'm sure will have a spot in my top 10 albums of 2010. There is a sincerity in the lyrics and I find myself relating to Adie's walk as a Christian as she reaches out to God. "All I Need Is You" has a Hillsong United feel to the music as it builds to a powerful guitar riff towards the end of the song, and is another standout track on the album along with the two Hillsong United covers, "Soon" and "Oh You Bring," my two favorite songs from last year's Across The Earth: Tear Down The Walls by Hillsong United. We recently started singing those songs at my church and I am so excited that Adie chose to record those songs, which are just beautiful. "Beautiful Lord" is an incredible cover of the song originally recorded by Leeland on Sound Of Melodies and fits perfectly on this album. "Love Come Down" leads seamlessly into "Soon," which was written and originally recorded by Brooke Fraser Ligertwood of Hillsong United. In the last couple of years, Brooke's "Lead Me To The Cross," "Desert Song" and "Hosanna" have also been covered and Adie does an amazing job with this soon to be classic song which is focused on praying for Jesus to come again, "soon and very soon."

"Seek You," "Shelter" and "Redemption Song" are all excellent prayer songs in the style of Bethany Dillon's excellent album Stop & Listen, which I rated in my top 10 albums of 2009. The album closes with Hillsong United's "Oh You Bring," another stand-out song and closes with "Only You." When asked about the theme of this album, Adie explained "Truly learning what it is to seek the Lord with all my heart and sitting at His feet without things being a distraction to me hence the title of the album `Just You And Me'. I want to grow so much more and learn what it is to really worship Him in spirit and truth. He has shown Himself strong for me and truly been my shelter and my hope in the middle of some hard life experiences. I chose songs that resonate with what God has been showing me and they're meaning more and more as I go along."

CLOSING THOUGHTS
If you liked Adie's first solo album, then you must go and get Just You And Me, which I'm sure will have a spot in my top 10 albums of 2010. This album holds my top spot for female solo albums in the past year and is on the level of the latest albums by Christy Nockels, Bethany Dillon and Sara Groves, which is amazing company in my opinion. Adie's transparency and faithfulness comes out in every song and I have been completely captivated by both her excellent and sweet vocals and her song selection which allows for a prayerful and extremely enjoyable worship experience.

There is something special here . . . if you like the samples provided, don't hesitate to buy this album. Adie shares her vocal talent and skill in an forthright and honest way that is seldom equaled by anyone.

Adie, or Adrienne Camp (previously Adrienne Liesching of the Benjamin Gate), utilizes her voice like a master musician utilizes his or her instrument--she skillfully squeezes every ounce of heartfelt soul from every note and syllable. There are great singers who are great because they have natural talent. There exist fantastic vocalists who have attained their chops through rigorous practice and effort. Then there are those vocalists who have both natural talent and labor hard to improve it . . . and I believe that Adie must belong to this latter group. Fantastic.

Adie's solo albums must surely be a blessing to those who prefer their music on the softer side. As much as I love her voice, however, I find that I cannot listen long to her current style of music. I lament the passing of The Benjamin Gate, a group for which Adie sang in the late 1990's and early 2000's. BUT . . . I don't write this to take away from Adie's work. I write this to thank Adie for her contribution to the rock scene, for her graciousness in continuing to bless others with her talent and skill, and to beseech any other female vocalists out there who might be willing to venture into the rock genre. There are few female vocalists who can make rock and roll work for them . . . Adie was one. Surely there must be others.

Thank you Adie, for what you did for rock and roll through The Benjamin Gate and what you're now doing for contemporary Christian pop and Praise & Worship. You've blessed many. Thank you.

NOTE: I was inspired to write this review after having listened to The Letter Black's newest album, "Hanging on by a Thread." This hard rock band is fronted by a female vocalist whose voice sounds a little like Adie's, though without her "soul." A little on the poppy side of the hard rock genre, it is still worth a listen.

Adie Camp is truly a blessing to the body of Christ and an example to all woman of God -- and all of this is captured in her new album! I truly can not describe how God has used her album to enrich my season with Him now. I truly and solely encourage all to purchase this album. It is truly a medium for pure worship to God, and an example to all of what true worship is all about!

As a person moved by lyrics, I really enjoy this album. The lyrics are deep and meaningful. Adie's sound is sweet and peaceful but not sleepy. I think its the perfect quiet time CD. I also love using heartfelt music like this as my own personal worship time.
I look forward to hearing more from her!!!

Just You and Me is full of songs that glorify God and are a joy to listen too. The emotion behind the songs is evident and touching. The tunes are very memorable and the words stay with you long after the songs have ended. It is an inspiring and calming album, one that I'm sure will be listened to over and over again here at our house. My girls' favorite song is "Shelter", one Adie recorded soon after suffering a second trimester miscarriage. My favorite is a toss-up between "Oh You Bring" and "All I Need Is You". Both are gorgeous songs, but the lyrics of verse 2 in "Oh You Bring" speaks to my heart: You fill those who are empty/ And rescue those in the valley/ And through it all You calm my soul.

I'm not good at writing reviews; can't make comparisons, can't even describe exactly what I like about these tunes. Yet like them I do, and whether you're familiar with Adie Camp's music and talent or a first time listener, I think you will too.

While I don't think this one is up to the level of her first album, "Don't Wait" it is still a quite good album and worth the purchase. Perhaps I like her first one better because it is more up-tempo, which this one is more worshipful.
