Just played the demo...

I played the demo on PSN and I am impressed. I always liked the old Afterburner games in the arcades, and I even had Afterburner on NES when I was a kid. Then when Pilotwings 64 came out (never played the SNES game) I bought it and I loved the realism of it. Recently I bought Ace Combat for PS3 and 3DS... loved it on 3DS, but did not like the PS3 version. When I played the demo for this game I was hoping for that Ace Combat action, but with Pilotwings realism and the taking off/landing, and that's just what I got. The flight controls take alittle getting used to (I was just using a controller), but in my short time with it was really starting to get the feel for it. The game looks impressive, too. IGN really liked it, and I see 1 5-star rating and he seemed to love it.That's it! I'm going to have to buy this game.

Well you should try out il-2. It's actually similar to this game and helps you get use to the controls.

Funny that you mentioned that. I did end up buying that one first, and I'm glad I did. I just finished the Deep Raid mission, and failed the following mission (forget the name). The game is an absolute blast, and I'll definitely get Birds of Steel later this year.
