Book Description

January 10, 2006 Harlequin Super Romance (Book 1323)
COLD CASES: L.A. Giving up is not an option.

She had to tell a lie

But that still hadn't stopped Detective St. James from coming around and asking Laura questions about the murder of her ex-husband. He seemed to see right through her when she said she didn't know anything about the notorious madam, Anna Kolnikov, either. What good would it do to admit the dead woman had helped Laura turn her life around? It would't help protect her daughter from the mob. In fact, the anonymous phone calls had started as soon as St. James first flashed her his badge. She'd have to find a way to lose him soon. Before his inexplicable obsession with Anna cost Laura everything.

More About the Author

Linda Style was born and raised in Minnesota, where she spent many long, cold winters making up stories in her head. She attended the University of Minnesota, studying behavioral science, married and had a family. But the dream of writing persisted, and after moving to Arizona, she earned a degree in journalism from the Walter Cronkite School of Jouralism at Arizona State University. She's worked in many jobs from social services to magazine editor, and, now, with 14 novels under her belt, her books are sold worldwide and in many different languages. In addition to penning her novels of romance, adventure and intrigue, she also teaches novel writing at Bootcamp for Novelists Online. Since her first sale to Harlequin Enterprises in 1999, her novels have won several contests and awards, including the prestigious Daphne du Maurier Award. When not writing, or teaching, Linda indulges her passions for travel, photography, hiking in the Arizona mountains, and enjoying her family.
