Editorial Reviews

2011 release, the third album from the Hard Rockers. Justice is a theme Rev Theory has rallied around collectively. It is a concept or symbol encompassing a philosophy of rebellion and a statement towards society. Guitarist Julien Jorgensen offered, "Every one walking this Earth has encountered an injustice in their lives. Whether it be professionally, philosophically, religiously, spiritually, politically, or even in a relationship they hold dear, this song is a statement towards standing up for one's self and taking what is yours. It is a time in society where adversity must be challenged with strength, and as a band we have rallied around the belief that our time has come and we are going to grab it."

I became a huge fan of Rev Theory when I heard "Hell Yeah" on Sirius/XM's hard rock station, Octane. I had high hopes for the new album, seeing as "Light it Up" was a 10 out of 10 in my opinion, as a hard rock album. Don't get wrong, "Justice" is a decent album and it has some great songs, but it lacks the overall feel that made "Light It Up" a masterpiece. "Justice" is a heavier album, focusing more on hard driving rhythm guitar riffs. There are less harmonizing guitar parts and the leads aren't as well written as the ones in "Light it Up." The title track is a heart stomping, heavy riffed straight up hard rock song. Rich Luzzi's vocals are the highlight of the song. Yet, the main guitar riffs leave muched to be desired. The same goes for "Dead in a Grave." The highlights of the album are "Hangman", "The Fire", "Guilty By Design", and "Hollow Man." In my opinion, songs like "Wicked Wonderland", "Enemy Within", and "Never Again" are filler tracks. They seemed forced and uninspiring. Overall, I give this album a 3.5 out of 5. Although it has some good moments, overall it's a let down to their prior release.

To keep this simple, if you liked Light It Up, you'll like this album. They have some excellent heavy rockers on here (Justice, Dead In A Grave, Hangman) as well as some softer songs that sound amazing(Hollow Man, The Fire). If you're a fan of Rev Theory or newer hard rock in general pick up this album.

The Justice album is amazing work from these very talented guys. I saw some reviews that said this album isn't as good as Light it Up and I have to admit, I might've said the same thing... until I gave this album a chance.

When you really, really like an album, I think sometimes it predisposes us to think that nothing can be better and we may seem a little disappointed in the next album (take that as a compliment, Rev Theory). It took awhile, but once I gave this album a chance, I saw and appreciated their workmanship and talent even more. I am still wearing out this CD. Also, really like that they added in a vocal solo (Hollowman) by the base guitarist, Matt (which he nails btw).

If you haven't seen these guys in concert, you must! Their albums are awesome but these guys have real, raw talent. They're amazing live. Then when you listen to your CD or mp3's, it really makes you appreciate their music even more.

They seem to be good guys too, doing the best they can. Yah, they swear a bit but if you read some of their stuff, they are pretty deep and strive to be good people. Neat guys.

I have to say that I do have two other albums by this group - Truth is Currency and Light It Up. I really enjoy their music which has a good beat, and songs that actually speak to me.

I have to admit that Say Goodbye is probably my favorite song on this album. It's a more mellow song than some of the other songs on this album. Not that any of the songs are what I would consider 'hard' rock, per se. Some have a harder, more powerful beat and a 'rough edge' like Enemy Within, which I like a lot, also!!

All in all I think this is a well-rounded album that gives you a good mix of music instead of sounding like some other groups that each song sounds almost exactly the same without much difference in the music itself!

wow is all that comes to mind when rating these guys. i have been following them ever since i first found them by accident back in '05. when they released the cd "truth is currency" ever since then it has been one hell of a ride. each release gets better and better. if you like actual ROCK then these guys are a cant miss. it doesnt get much better than these guys. great music followed up with amazing vocals you cannot go wrong with Rev Theory or Revelation Theory as i still call them. a true Rock and Roll band straight to the core. god bless Rev Theory for doing what they feel is music. who knows what the future holds for rock and roll but if these guys are any indication then i ajm proud to call myself a rocker.

...From its predecessor, Justice manages to change up Luzzi's vocal stylings, while adding some of the darkness of the first album back into the mix. The results, predictably, are about those of TIC: The ballads outshine the rage and bleakness of the rockers. Granted, a couple of the thrashers are stronger than what was on TIC, but this was a step in the wrong direction for Rev Theory. Also not understanding why they all of a sudden started swearing so much, but perhaps that was just another new-fangled touch.

This is an amazing album for start to finish. Very mature and evolved from Light It Up (although another great album). I saw them live twice while they were supporting Justice and I have never seen a band who works harder or puts more passion into their performance.
Stand out songs include:
Dead in a Grave
Justice and Wicked Wonderland.

In my opinion, "Justice" is Rev Theory's best album to date. Slightly harder than "Light It Up", it has a feel very similar to Stone Temple Pilot's very first album (a feel that STP moved away from on subsequent albums). Lot's of heavy riff, hard rock. It will definitely get the adreneline pumping!
