Thoughtful, well-characterized, and *hot* femdom erotica!, October 24, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Justice: And Other Short Erotic Tales (Paperback)
Have you been searching for female-dominant BDSM fiction that goes beyond the stupid "KNEEL, WORM!" stereotypes? Look no further: Ms. Eckhart has put together six short stories which are not only quite arousing, but really get at the psychology of female dominance and male submission. The collection is full of unforgettable submissive characters--Phillipe in "Par Dela Fantaisie," Casper in "The Flesh Is Weak," Frayne in "Since You Asked, I Will Tell You," and the title piece's Jake Monroe (in an encore from her previous book). The lengths to which some men will go for servitude is quite the eye-opener. But don't think the book is for heterosexuals only--in fact, the single hottest scene is all-male. Just about anyone who is kinky (or curious about it) will have their minds, nether regions, maybe even hearts touched by this rapidly-maturing writer.

Raises the bar for femdom erotica, January 8, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Justice: And Other Short Erotic Tales (Paperback)
[Disclosure: I am a friend of the author.] Justice is a well-crafted, readable and hot collection of BDSM erotica, a rare thing, and even rarer for being primarily female-dominant and male-submissive. The characters and situations are well developed. In the afterward, the author says her themes were complexity and choice. I see another personal theme in three of the six stories: the search for love in spite of repeated disappointment. Anyone can relate to this, but especially those who practice BDSM. The search for the right dominant or submissive is tough on everybody, male or female or other. The commitment to keep searching shines through in the realistic piece "Still", the science fiction tale "The Flesh is Weak" and the semi-fantasy story "Par Dela Fantasie". The other three stories are more escapist entertainment, and hit the mark admirably, particularly "Justice", which is a continuation of a story in her first anthology. "As Is" deals more with the Mistress ordering contact between her male slave and other men. "Since you asked, I will tell you" is a well-done bit of erotica set in a matriarchal fantasy society. The book's production has a very small-press feel, especially the poor editing. I spotted a number of typoes and mis-phrasings that lessened my enjoyment. It's my hope that this book and others like it will encourage more intelligent, personal erotica, especially of the femdom variety.

Some tough ladies..., September 4, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Justice: And Other Short Erotic Tales (Paperback)
...and the men who love them. They come in all sizes and colors, in all cultures and societies. These stories are well-written and easy to read, they're stories that would be fun to curl up with or share with a partner even if you weren't kinky. But if your kink is of the fem-dom bent, and you appreciate a good, creative story, you might just become a fan.

Would give it six stars if i could...very human erotica, July 22, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Justice: And Other Short Erotic Tales (Paperback)
Eckhart does it again with another collection of femdom erotica that is erotically and emotionally moving - a very very rare thing indeed. Most of what is out there is insulting to women AND men - all of this author's work (some more than others) engages the groin and heart. What is wonderfull is the vulnerablity on BOTH sides of the relationships in the stories here. The author talks about choice as her topic throughout the stories, an earlier reviewer states that it was the search for love in spite of disappointment. That sounds right to me as well. Too bad that Eckhart is married....;) And I hope her old books will be reissued and that damned s/m futures book will finally come out! (HieroV@aol.com)

Refreshing FemDomme erotica, March 30, 2000
This review is from: Justice: And Other Short Erotic Tales (Paperback)
What I liked about this collection of FemDomme stories was that instead of the typical "on your knees slave" stories, these stories instead had beleivable characters and well thought-out story plots. Not to mention some rather hot scenes. :)) I liked too how the psychological aspects of Fem Domme/male sub play was described in each story. Even if at times I grew impatient at wondering how a story might turn out, I was always pleased at the story's end. Tammy is a wonderful writer, and even though I'm a male Dominant myself, I would be feel honored to kneel before her.

Thoughtful, creative and erotic, January 22, 2001
This review is from: Justice: And Other Short Erotic Tales (Paperback)
Sensitive and thoughtful are not words often applied to SM erotica, but when it comes down to feeding the largest sex organ, the brain, Tammy Jo is - no pun intended - a master. Highly recommended.
