    From the Author

I've done a lot of writing in my life. Nothing published, but with the popularity of ebooks and thriller novels I wanted to put my hand in again. It was a hugely rewarding experience and I learned a lot about myself, and about writing thrillers series in general.
The end result is Blood and Justice, the first of the Jake & Annie Lincoln Crime Thrillers.
I included some great characters, tucked in some humourous situations, and tried to keep the thrillers series an interesting and easy read.
It was great fun to write. The characters revealed themselves to me as I went along, and the story told itself. I couldn't wait to see what happened next. I was pleasantly surprised when the story ended. Not exactly the way I planned it, but there it was.
I hope you will give this private investigator series a look.

A little gruesome in places, but I liked that it did not have bad language or explicit sex. All in all very good.

3.0 out of 5 stars not bad October 20, 2013

Very entertaining. Story line was good, albeit predictable. Not the average villain; which I found refreshing. All in all a good read and I would recommend. Most appreciate was the lack of explicit content. I enjoyed reading a book that was filled with content and not filth.

Everyone underestimates the little guy. He's easy prey.

Husbands and wives make a formidable team. They seem to operate as one. Two differing sets of capabilities. Together they become a force to be reckoned with.

Fast paced mystery with enough twists and turns to keep you reading. You know the story is just beginning.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor writing December 29, 2013
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Book needs a lot of editing not just for grammar and scanning errors, but also the writing. Story line is thin and boring. While a work of fiction, the plot isn't believable enough for the reader to suspend any thought of reality.

Ever read a book and just stare open mouth at the pages like "WTH?", well this is one of those books for me. I love reading new authors and while I thought it was a cute story line with the "mini" psychopath who doles out justice on thieves, the story was soooo disjointed & unbelievable & predictable.

The two main characters were ok, especially though the latter half of the book I had several - ok, many - "WTH" moments with their storyline. Also, I wasn't sure if the intention was to write about a clearly inept police department (Keystone cops), with a detective who seems to be more concerned with dating the mother of the missing child and farming off his work to private detectives or to write about a semi-decent police department that trended towards making ludicrous mistakes and farming off his work to private detectives -- either way, the story was implausible. A simple example: why is it that the private detectives get the great idea to check surveillance video on several occasions (albeight weeks late) and not the police?

Even more annoyingly, the mother of the missing child who entertains dating the inept detective purportedly searching for her daughter?? Then layer in the seemingly ominous presence of the reporter, a storyline that falls completely flat -- kept waiting for something juicy to happen with her.

I could go on and on but the bottom line is, if an author is writing a detective story, especially one that involves police procedure, it would be nice to do a little research first or at least make us feel like you did or just minimize it in the story and focus in the private side of things.

A great story and great writing. The story grabbed my attention from the start and held it all the way to the end. The characters were believable and easy to related to. I'm looking forward to the sequel.
