THE NEW CAUNITZ,
By ANDREW SOVIA (NEW YORK) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Justifiable Homicide (Mass Market Paperback)
THIS BOOK WAS SO EXITING I WAS UNABLE TO PUT IT DOWN. AS AN AVID READER OF THIS TYPE OF BOOK, IT WAS ONE OF THE FASTEST READS I HAVE ENJOYED IN MANY YEARS. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO ANYONE WHO ENJOYS AN ACTION PACKED VIEW OF THE NEW YORK CRIME SCENE AND THE COPS THAT WORK IT. I WILL ADD THIS AUTHOR TO MY LIST WITH SANDERS, PATERSON, CANNELLI AND WAMBAUGH.

A riveting first effort!,
This review is from: Justifiable Homicide (Mass Market Paperback)
I am nearly finished with the exciting new novel by B.J. Whalen and felt compelled to write an immediate review. To use a harried cliche, once I picked this book up, I could not put it down. The novel is action-packed, well written and fast paced. Furthermore, for a mass market novel, it is solidly accurate as to the procedures and practices of the NYPD. I try to avoid speaking in hyperbole, but this novel rivals anything written by Dan Manhoney or Ed McBain. Get yourself a copy and enjoy a good old fashioned cop novel.

B.J.WHALENS BOOK "JUSTIFIABLE HOMICIDE" WAS AN EXCELLENT READ. NOT ONLY A GREAT STORY LINE, BUT HIS KNOWLEDGE OF POLICE PROCEDURES WAS COMPLETELY ON THE MONEY. I WAS SORRY THE BOOK HAD TO END BUT I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO HIS NEXT ENDEAVER. ANDY SOVIA / RETIRED NYPD

At what price justice?,
By John (Long Beach, N.Y.) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Justifiable Homicide (Mass Market Paperback)
B.J.Whalen's Justifiable Homocide is a gritty work of fiction. It takes the reader to the streets of New York City for a glimpse at a world where the definition of justice is fluid. Inhabited by drug dealers, dirty cops and opportunistic politicians Whalens' N.Y.C. is frighteningly realistic. Centered around a plausible assassination plot, the story rapidly moves from scene to scene taking the reader on a tour of the underbelly of New York's drug scene and inside the N.Y.P.D.'s methods to confront the drug trade. While it is a work of fiction it accurately addresses the issues confronted by police officers fighting the war on drugs. Thoroughly researched and written in a style which will leave the reader craving more. This work is highly recommended.

Fantastic First Novel,
By Jerry Secaur (Auburn, N.Y.) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Justifiable Homicide (Mass Market Paperback)
As I read this novel, I kept saying "How could this be a first novel". It reads like the authors have been doing this for years. It was a hard book to put down from cover to cover. The authors were great in the way they described all of the main characters.I'm looking forward to there next book. This one will be hard to top. Jerry Secaur

Quick paced, action packed story. An intimate knowledge of NYC and its neighborhoods. Police jargon used effectively and naturally. Waiting for the next one.

A truly believeable thriller,
By Don Jirak (NYC, NY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Justifiable Homicide (Mass Market Paperback)
I literally could not put this book down. I usually save this type of thriller for plane rides and airports. Whalen makes the neighborhoods in his story come alive. And his insight into to NYPD procedure and jargon make this book a must read. I started it on a Friday night and finished it by Saturday afternoon. I am anxiously waiting for the next book, or the Movie version of this story.

Terrific Tale,
This review is from: Justifiable Homicide (Mass Market Paperback)
This is a powerful novel about narcotics, politics and the NYPD. It immediately captures your attention and never lets it go. If Guliani had a brother on the force, I would think the story was real. The writing is so clear and descriptive, it leaves you with vivid mental picture long after you put the book down. I can't wait for Jon and Bernard Whalen to write another!

Justifiable Homicide - A Must Read Thriller,
By John Dennehy, Jr. (Port Jefferson, New York) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Justifiable Homicide (Mass Market Paperback)
This well written thriller is exciting, entertaining, and contains great insight from authors who could draw on their own experiences fighting crime in New York. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and could not put it down until it was finished. Afterwards, I bought two more copies to give to my friends so that they could read it!

non stop action,
This review is from: Justifiable Homicide (Paperback)
I'm an avid reader and tend to be open to all genres. I was very pleased with this selection&impressed with the writer's depiction of NYPD culture. It had all of the elements of a good read as it captivated the reader in the protaganist's twisted life. It was hard to put the book down cause of all the action and drama. I basically read it in 2 days! It was like having a TV series in the palm of your hands. I loved it!!
