5.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't put it down! Excellent!
From my wife Sarah: I completely enjoyed the first book in this series, The Reluctant Time Traveler. It was so completely original and creative, and I couldn't put it down. I couldn't wait to read Lord Justin Sittwell Claims a Wife, and I wasn't disappointed. I'm really amazed at how unique these books are.

1.0 out of 5 stars One of the worse books I have ever read.
I read the first book in this series and looked forward to the second. What a major mistake!! I will keep it simple and say this is absolutely one of the worse books I have ever read. The relationship between Lord Sittwell and his wife is immature and silly. The plot itself was lame - it was as if the author tried to replace a true plot with constant unbelievable love...

I don't want to give anything away, but the author creates a completely different world. It impacts ours, but it's hidden to us. It has it's own people, culture, rituals, and purpose. They also have unique abilities. With powerful character and story development she draws the reader in. There is time travel involved, which is one of my favorite themes, but it's used in a way I've never seen before. I so admire the originality and creativity of this author.

When I finished this book, I couldn't stop thinking about it. It really stayed with me. Lynda is one of those great writers that makes her characters come alive so that you want to see more. I had the feeling that there may be a third in the series, so I wrote the author to find out (I've never done this before). She wrote back saying there will be a third, but it will be a while. I can't wait!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Incredible Book from Lynda Eymann! A FABULOUS Sequel!, November 9, 2009
This review is from: Lord Justin Sittwell Claims a Wife (The Reluctant Time Traveler Book Two) (Paperback)
From the first page of this novel, I knew I was in good hands! Ms. Eymann possesses the soul of a poet and the imagination of a powerful story-teller. Of course, I already knew this, having read "The Reluctant Time Traveler," her first book which guided me into the wondrous world of Susan Jaymes.

And what a world! It's a place that combines realism and fantasy, romance and adventure, and the most remarkable characters who stay "alive" long after that last page is turned. I have been waiting for this sequel, and it does not disappoint!

Susan Jaymes was born as a "Time Thraeder," and has the ability to weave into and through elements of time and affect situations in the past. She is still a "novice" but she has a wonderful mentor/master in Lord Justin Sittwell. Their chemistry works its own magic: Susan and Justin's love begins to spark, and the pages sizzle, flashing hot against a background of intrigue, jealousy, deceit, and mystery.

Despite a past "dark secret," Susan is a fine heroine in every sense of the word: strong, noble, loyal; totally admirable. But she meets her challenge in loving Lord Justin Sittwell, an enigmatic and tantalizing character. A compelling hero among brutal men, Justin Sittwell is absolutely irresistible! He can be gruff, domineering, gentle, sensual, and absolutely deliciously sexual!

The unrelenting love of Susan and Justin is the magic at the core of this second book, and it's pure heat! But there is so much more to this fabulous adventure! This book flows without a wasted word, and despite its mystical elements, the story has a compelling logic. Ms. Eymann's latest will hold all her readers spellbound, totally enchanted, and longing for more.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love it!, January 2, 2010
This review is from: Lord Justin Sittwell Claims a Wife (The Reluctant Time Traveler Book Two) (Paperback)
"Lord Justin Sittwell Claims a Wife" by Lynda Eymann was fantastic. The story is about a woman whose character is memorable and admirable for her courage, intelligence, and humanity. She stood up for what she believed in no matter what the cost. I was drawn in by the beautiful descriptive writing and couldn't put it down because I wanted to find out what happened next. I absolutely loved this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very skillful story-weaving holds one's interest to the last sentence., April 3, 2010
This review is from: Lord Justin Sittwell Claims a Wife (The Reluctant Time Traveler Book Two) (Paperback)
The overall weaving of an intriguing storyline that can span the centuries is a fait accompli which makes this author, in her own right, a skilled thraeder. I await with great anticipation the next of what I hope is a continuing series of adventures of one of my favorite fictional romance couples who look beyond superficial appearances to embrace the person within.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Facts about this book, February 14, 2010

This review is from: Lord Justin Sittwell Claims a Wife (The Reluctant Time Traveler Book Two) (Paperback)
This book isn't for everyone.

If you haven't read "The Reluctant Time Traveler," you won't understand or enjoy this book. If you've read "The Reluctant Time Traveler" and didn't actually LIKE the main characters, don't buy this book. It isn't for you.

This book isn't pornographic. There are about 16 or 17 scenes involving the hero and heroine which might be called "love scenes." None of them is very long. None of them is extremely explicit. They are, however, SENSUAL. Definitely sensual. And humorous. Yes, this book has lots and lots of humor. If you don't have a sense of humor, don't buy this book.

This book has a heroine who blushes maybe 5 or 6 times in 440 pages. If that offends your modern sensibilities or your need to have a kick-butt heroine, you shouldn't read this book. How many times does she pout?? ZERO.

This book has a hero and a heroine who are physically scarred. Those who read the first book know why the heroine is scarred. Somehow, the hero finds her appealing anyway. I guess he must look at her inner spirit instead of her superficial flaws.

This book isn't violent. Yes, there are evil people. Yes, they commit evil deeds. There are probably 3 or 4 pages of so-called violence in the entire book. None of it is graphic. None of it is gory. If you want to read ONLY about sunshine and lollipops, you shouldn't buy this book. I'm usually sensitive to violence in books and movies, but the violence in this book didn't offend me. There are many more humorous moments than violent ones.

This book doesn't advocate violence toward women and animals. In fact, most people will recognize that the story has an underlying theme which promotes the right of women and animals to live in peace. Anyone who missed that theme must have been too busy skipping pages in search of the ridiculous, silly, pornographic sex scenes which simply don't exist.

If you've read and truly LIKED the first book, I think you'll enjoy the sequel as much as I did. If you haven't read the first book, or simply didn't like it, you need to pass on this sequel.

4.0 out of 5 stars Old fashioned values, March 26, 2011

Lynda skillfully illustrates that having a guiding moral compass doesn't limit itself to a time period.

The protagonist is a breath of fresh air.

Knowing, yet innocent; idealistic, and very vulnerable...time passes around and through Susan, against her worldly wants and desires.

She is a survivor against crippling odds.

There were scenes that were...raw. Cruel, but without them, the dedication and the tenderness between the leading characters may not have been as compelling.

What suprised me most was the humour. Susan feels like a very old Soul, someone who is very capable of traveling the span of time.

The pace of the book held my interest, the plot was well developed. Despite a fantasy setting, Susan was a very real character, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of joy in the outcome of her journey.

The author leads us through a very unfair world; but that we have a choice in how we choose to perceive that world.

I would recommend this book to anyone who needs a hero.

4.0 out of 5 stars not quite as good as the first one., June 11, 2011
This series is a good one. The reluctant time travler one was the best of the two. But when Lord Justin Sittwell does every thing to keep his love safe and free, I think he goes to far in some area's. If his wife hadent been protrayed as a short tempered, non thinking female the storie would have been much shorter.Lord Justin Sittwell Claims a Wife (The Reluctant Time Traveler Book Two)

This review is from: Lord Justin Sittwell Claims a Wife (The Reluctant Time Traveler Book Two) (Paperback)
I liked the first book in the series and passed it on to my sister-in-law, who loves time travel books as much as I do. I don't think I'll even tell her I have the second book. I thought the romance was silly and childish and the sex both ridiculous and pornographic. There was almost no contact between any of the characters that didn't have some overt or blatant sexual overtone and none of it seemed authentic. Every time the main character blushed because of her sexual thoughts I wanted to laugh. She's supposedly some 50+ years old, for crying out loud, and in very stressful and uncomfortable circumstances. I also had to really dig deep for some understanding of why Lord Sittwell found her so attractive or appealing. The violence toward women and animals in this book was a huge turn off for me. I found myself flipping past pages and being glad when I reached the last page. I'll probably sneak this book on to the sale table at the library!
