4.0 out of 5 stars For The Justin Junkie
I've been a fan of Justin Timberlake's ever since he came out in *NSYNC so of course I'm gonna say that this DVD rocks my socks. For one Justin looks real good and his solo debut was just awesome and I think he's a real talented young man (with Michael Jackson comparisons aside)and this collection shows just how talented he is.
You of course get all of Justin...

Here's what I think about "Justified: The Videos". I'm a huge fan of Justin Timberlake, but this DVD was kind of disappointing.
The videos, of course, were great. However, the behind-the-scenes footage was boring, and the live performances were just okay, except the Brit Awards performance, which was cool. Justin Timberlake is a 4-star artist, but this...

4.0 out of 5 stars For The Justin Junkie, January 1, 2005
This review is from: Justin Timberlake - Justified: The Videos (DVD)
I've been a fan of Justin Timberlake's ever since he came out in *NSYNC so of course I'm gonna say that this DVD rocks my socks. For one Justin looks real good and his solo debut was just awesome and I think he's a real talented young man (with Michael Jackson comparisons aside)and this collection shows just how talented he is.
You of course get all of Justin Timberlake's videos (except "I'm Lovin' It-which is featured on the Justin Timberlake Live In London DVD, just to let you know). The clubbin' "Like I Love You", to controversial and haunting "Cry Me A River", to the disco lights of "Rock Your Body" and then to the hole in the wall club of the funky "Senorita", they are all here. As an added bonus you get to see the makings of "Like I Love You" and "Rock Your Body" as well as MTV stuff-the Album Launch, TRL performances and Vid Awards performance and the Brit Awards performance. It's awesome the first time around then great after the tenth time of watching it due to the fact of them drilling "Like I Love You" and "Cry Me A River" into your brain by adding wayyy too many performances of these songs. I think the DVD would have been mucho better if they had added in some backstage looks at how Justin recorded this album (more than what is shown in Launch) and him going through the motions of his tour and maybe how they made "Cry Me A River" and "Senorita" music vids or have Justin talking about his life, music, whatever between each video break or something.
Well, you can't ask for too much! Still a very enjoyable DVD and well worth the money, especially if you are a BIG time Justin fan. This is for the Justin Junkie!

This is a fantastic dvd, with excellent live concert versions of the songs, also offering TRL versions preformed live in Time Square New York City. A DVD every Justin Timberlake fan will definately need to have in there collections. It's No 1.

4.0 out of 5 stars Well worth it, September 24, 2003
This review is from: Justin Timberlake - Justified: The Videos (DVD)
I am a big fan of "Mr JT" and snapped this off the shelf as soon as it was released. I was pleased that there were a few extras, in particular MTV's Making the Video and the MTV Launch of Justified was really interesting. My only beef with this DVD was that it should have inlcuded the full versions of Making the Video, Launch and the BRIT award performance. Also I did think there were too many live performances of the same song (Like I Love You & Cry Me A River). I wouldve like to have seen a live performance of Rock Your Body or Senorita. But overall I was extremely pleased with the DVD... he is a very talented artist and I look forward to any future projects he has going.
PS - I absolutely LOVE the new song, Im Lovin It!! And the vid is really good too!!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Caught my attention for a bit, but boring after a while, December 24, 2003
This review is from: Justin Timberlake - Justified: The Videos (DVD)
I have to say that Justin looks good in the DVD, and that is one of the reasons I bought the DVD. The first time you watch it (if your in a good mood, or real tired) it is pretty good, but after a while it gets pretty boring. You get pretty sick of seeing Justin concert after concert. But if your a totally upsessed fan you might enjoy it. Justin is hilarious in the DVD, it is so funny! He even spills on him and Britney. It is pretty juicy stuff, kept me pretty interested and laughing. It includes all his music videos, "Like I Love You" "Cry Me A River" "Rock Your Body" and "Senorita." I was kind of dissappointed that it didn't have Justin's new video "I'm Lovin It," but still if your looking for a good music video DVD I would suggest this one.

Overall- 6/10

This DVD is the ultimate thing of the year for all you fans of Justin Timberlake out there. I love how it features all the videos but I wish they didn't show so many live performances of Like I love You, that sort of got annoying after a while. I thought it would've been interesting if they had Making The Video for Cry Me A River and Senorita. I also wish they hadn't shown excerpts from the behind the scenes stuff but the whole thing. But I especially loved the music videos and behind the scenes. It's one of those DVD's you'll want to watch over and over again. :)

3.0 out of 5 stars A Bit Disappointing but Deserves a Spot in your Collection, May 22, 2007

Justin Timberlake
Justified: The Videos

First of all, I am a 34-year-old mother. I just got hip to JT in October 2006 (I never paid attention to N'Sync and got it and Backstreet Boys and 98* all mixed up!) I went to JT's concert in Febuary but this DVD is kind of disappointing.

People often compare Justin's moves and a few of his tones to Michael Jackson. After all of his crazi antics, Michael Jackson is still the original King of Pop and its no wonder why. As I watched the video for "Like I Love You", I saw JT doing the MJ thing and doing it damned well! I say if JT is talented enough to do it, good for him. It is extreme talent. That video is nice and satisfying.

Next on the DVD is the making of the "Like I Love You" video. The interview with him is horrific. He comes across as a little creep. It is too bad that in this interview he is nothing like the well polished professional that he is today. Throughout these interviews he tries to be the young white boy who is trying to be cool with his black homeys. My mother often refers to JT as a "young punk" and if she saw this, it would confirm her thoughts. I didn't like his attitude or his so-called black accent.

The interview was boring and I finally gave in and fast-forwarded it. The "Cry Me a River" video is nice, too. It is simply the video. Next "Like I Love You" in concert. It may not be the video but its still a song already on the DVD. Okay, I like the song so I watched it. Again, is another performance of "Like I Love You". I couldn't watch it for a third time!

"Cry Me a River" performed live. Okay, we just saw the video, we don't need to see this performance. It's getting a little boring now.

The "Rock Your Body" video saves this DVD. The video uses extraordinarily unbelievable graphics and effects. The making of this video is quite interesting as we get an explanation behind the effects. For such a multi-talented, clean-cut, people person, JT exhibits a horribly immature behavior in these interviews.

I'm sorry to say that I did not even bother to watch the "Senorita" video or the MTV excerpts or the Brit Awards.

This DVD is disappointing. JT is undoubtedly magical with his song and dance. He is very talented and he can appeal to children, teens and adults. That is intensely admirable. Although the DVD falls short compared to JT's current abilities, the "Rock Your Body" video and behind-the-scenes gives this DVD a spot in every fan's collection. JT has grown more professionally than I would have known if I hadn't seen this DVD.

Just don't expect too much.

5.0 out of 5 stars ASTONISHING DVD, December 27, 2003
This review is from: Justin Timberlake - Justified: The Videos (DVD)
Justin has proved he's the new male pop icon ever. The visal effects related to the uptempo beats are awesome. The vocal sounds he does are perfect, the best career move he's done was setting off as a solo artist. For me, as a Brazilian dude, who could not watch trl live on Time Square, because my cabe tv doesn't broadcast America's MTV, just the one from Brazil, which, even though, has a lotta Justin's shows and videos on, but TRL.
Justin rocks, he's a cutting edge artist and really great, keep going, you rule! Excellent dvd material

Saudações Brasileiras! (Brazilian greetings)

5.0 out of 5 stars Ignore the haters, buy this DVD!, February 26, 2004

This review is from: Justin Timberlake - Justified: The Videos (DVD)
First of all, the people below me who gave this a bad review need to get a life. I suspect it's just one or two people since the reviews sound almost exactly the same (bad grammar, spelling, petty pot shots and all) and definitely aren't constructive in any way either. I noticed the same people posted similar reviews under Justin's other DVD "Live From London" and it seems pretty evident these people have never been Justin Timberlake fans so that leads me to conclude they just came here to rip on him because they're unhappy people and need to do this to feel good about themselves. That's pretty sad, guys... really. Did you even bother to watch the DVDs in question? For some reason, I doubt it.

Comparing this DVD to Led Zepplin, Audio Slave, the Allman Brothers, etc and saying it doesn't live up to those standards is ridiculous. It's like comparing apples to oranges. Those artists aren't even in the same genre as Justin and they're all amazing bands but that's just it -- they're rock bands, not R&B/Pop solo artists.

Also what's so wrong with Justin immitating Michael a little or sounding a bit like him and Stevie Wonder? Haven't you ever heard the saying, "Immitation is the greatest form of flattery"? Justin grew up listening to those artists just like the rest of us so of course they're going to have a big influence on him as an artist. However, I feel Justin's music represents a great deal of who he is as a person too. His lyrics are heartfelt, his performances are electrifying, overall he's an amazing, extremely talented performer that just so happens to share artistic similarities with other well established artists. Big deal! What? You never met someone else who liked the same music as you do? We all have similarities -- likes and dislikes we share. There's nothing wrong with that. That's like a three year old saying no one else can like their favorite cartoon show because it's THEIR show. It's that silly.

It'd be different if Justin completely ripped off a Michael Jackson or Stevie Wonder track, but he didn't. He let them influence him, even immitated Michael on-stage but I feel that was more in homage to Michael. Justin's way of acknowledging and showing respect to an amazing artist that has had a major affect on the music industry and generations of people. Britney Spears actually TRIES to be Madonna but I didn't see any mention of that in the nasty little reviews left here. In fact, she did a segment completely dedicated to Madge on-stage too during her first tour years ago. Wore her hair up in that silly cone and everything. Even sang a few Madonna songs. And let's not even get started on her song "Boys". If anyone can seriously listen to that track and say it's not a blatant rip off of Janet Jackson's song "Nasty" then I'll have to laugh in your face. Of course, unlike Ms. Spears Justin's never actually performed with Michael either or locked lips with him. But see, I don't see anyone mentioning that here either. How convenient.

The Superbowl halftime show is really up to individual interpretation. Accidents do happen including wardrobe but it could've been a stunt too. Did he perform with JJ so he could be more like Michael though? I doubt it. I've never seen Michael grind up on his sister before and let's not forget NSYNC toured with Janet so it stands to reason they became friends. It certainly has NOTHING to do with this DVD though, does it?

Personally, I think Justin is an amazing artist who reminds me a lot of a young Elvis. He certainly isn't going anywhere anytime soon. He's here to stay and all you naysayers who just come here to hate on him without offering anything constructive on the actual product in question need to deal with it.

This DVD is one of my favorites. His performances on-stage are inspirational but the videos included in this are the main reason to buy it. I'd suggest "Live From London" if you want more concert footage.

BTW, I'm a singer myself, just signed a four album deal too, so maybe I understand more as an artist what the musical process is like in this case since I've let many artists influence my music as well. That doesn't mean I'm trying to be them. It just means I appreciate their talents and hope that someday I can achieve the artistry they represent. If someone compared me to Janet Jackson or said my music sounded a lot like Mariah's I wouldn't consider that an attack or accusation. To me it'd be a compliment. These artists have been successful for many years. They must be doing something right, huh?

If you're a Justin fan then buy this DVD. It's a must for any JT fan's collection or any R&B/Pop musician (like me) looking for a little inspiration. I'm proud of Justin. Keep doing your thing, boo!
