With all the thousands of conflicting studies regarding juvenile crime, Agnew manages to distill the most important theoretical paradigms and present a clear, manageable treatment of this very broad subject. Poorly written
Agnew's theory is overly-simplistic and has little basis in reality. This is a poorly written book and I would heavily encourage anyone who reads it to check other sources. There are much more sophisticated theories of crime out there.

I teach a course in Juvenile Delinquency at a major university, and I love using this book. It isn't intimidating, students learn easily from it, and it serves as a springboard for their research. I was very disappointed with this book. Robert Agnew made this book very dry and should have had another editor read this book.
