okay, but not the best.,

This review is from: Juvenile Solutions Baby Cubes (2 oz/Pack of 8) (Baby Product)
These cubes do the trick, but I wouldn't trust them to keep the food fresh in the freezer for too long. They certainly don't seen to be airtight, and the lids do frequently pop off. They don't close securely, and they do leak if tipped over. The cube plastic is flimsy and when I sent one to daycare with food in it, they thought it was disposable and threw it away. The idea is great, but the product isn't up to par. It seems as though the lids will easily break from the containers. I gave this product 3 stars because there isn't another product like it that I can find, and the little containers are convenient. I wish Rubbermaid or Tupperware made small enough containers for storing because their covers are tight fitting and plastic is more durable.

Perfect sized meals,
These cubes are quite handy. When my son was first eating solids, I was making my own purees and using these, they are a little larger than a 6 month old's feeding size, but came in very handy once he started eating larger portions. I use these for his school lunches (he's 14 months now) and they are easy to wash, and the lid is connected so you don't have to worry about it getting lost.
Tip: for earlier ages, using an ice cube tray for baby purees was more beneficial for me. The feeding size of the cubes were perfert.

Why bother?,

I bought these but can't see the benefit of putting food in these tiny containers that tip over, are quite hard to store in the freezer, not good for microwaving to defrost, and then you have to wash them individually.
I gave up and use ice cube trays- so much easier to put the baby mush in (spray with Pam 1st for easy dispensing), pop out and store in Freezer Ziplocs, defrost as needed.

Great way to freeze home-made baby food!,

I love this product! They are easy to clean, can be steam serilized in the microwave (not all baby bowls/dishes can go into the microwave), and the food can be thawed/reheated in the microwave.
As another reviewer mentioned, I did have one that popped open when I put it in the freezer, but that was because I filled it too full. Just fill it to the max line and you will be fine. I also like that these cubes (when filled properly) don't leave the food freezer burned. I'm not sure if that's a problem with the ice cube trays, but that was one of the reasons why I wanted to try these. And I haven't been disappointed! This two ounce size is great for my twins. I also love that there is a measuring line on them so I can divide the food evenly between the twins to make sure both are getting their fair share! I believe there are also smaller 1oz cubes you can buy, but the 2oz size seems to be the perfect amount after your baby has been introduced to solids and starts wanting more than just a taste of food. For me, I pull out 2 or 3 of the 2oz cubes and can easily get the twins meals ready in just a few minutes. Instead of writing on these with a dry erase marker, I just put a small round sticker on the front of the tray with the food and date, and it works great for me. The trays allow me to stay organized so it's easy to know how much of a particular kind of food is left... so I know when to make more! I originally only bought 2 trays to test them out and see how they worked. I loved them so much that I've ordered another 2 trays and may be back for more!

Don't Waste Your Money,

The idea of these containers is great. I researched lots of options, and this seemed like the best at the time. I have 5 sets of the cubes and have been using them for about 4 months. Even if I only fill them to the recommended line, they still pop open in the freezer. 2 of them already have big cracks in the bottom so that they can no longer be used. I called Juvenile Solutions about this and they said they'd send me a new tray. I thought that was very kind and generous. They called back 3 days later to say that the owner had changed her mind. What?! I was hoping these cubes would last thru 2 babies. No way. If I had it to do over again, I would've just purchased a set of the small Ziploc storage containers.

These containers are very poor quality. They do not open/close particularly well and shatter easily if you happen to drop one from the freezer.
A much better option is Rubbermaid's 1/2 cup Easy Find Lid containers. There are a little bigger (4 oz), but your baby will soon outgrown the 2oz pots anyway! Rubbermaid's close securely, open easily, stack up well in the freezer and are robust enough not to crack if you happen to drop them. And most importantly, they are also BPA free[...] Rubbermaid 7J55 Easy Find Lid Square 1/2-Cup Food Storage Container, 2 pack

I was using an icecube tray but a little piece broke off the corner so I bought these because I thought it might be a little more reliable since it's actually made for baby food. However, after only a few uses a little bit of plastic broke off (who knows where it is) and that's almost scarier than BPA or pthalates. We're sticking with silicone. We have the Kinderville jars that we've used when we defrost and take food on the go and I think I'll fork over the money for the freezer cubes. Plus the cubes pop out of the silicone without dipping in warm water.
2 weeks later: Addition to my last review. Just going down to one star. I took the tray out of the freezer (7 mo. baby in one arm) and one of the jars fell on the floor. One corner shattered into a few sharp little pieces. I tried to pick them all up but one little piece had shot across the room and my daughter just found it and almost put it in her mouth. I was going to deal with the last breakage and blamed it on the dishwasher, opting to hand wash instead. But now I'm going to throw them all away. That was really scary. Kinderville all the way.

One of the safest ways to freeze baby food!,
This review is from: Juvenile Solutions Baby Cubes (2 oz/Pack of 8) (Baby Product)
I choose these after MUCH research. There are so many food storage options out there, but these are made of safe, BPA-free and PVC-free plastic (unlike other baby food containers or general plastic containers in which the plastisizers can seep into your baby's food). If you don't fill them to the brim, they will stay tightly sealed. Like any other plastic, if you drop them and they are frozen, they might break. I just take them out the night before I will use them and thaw in the refrigerator. Works great! I have 8 sets and will be buying more!
