Product Description

Amazon.com Product Review

The Jwin JV-AC73 Color High Resolution Mini Dome CCD Camera is a simple and reliable solution for basic remote monitoring needs. The easy-to-install Jwin JV-AC51 dome camera provides high-resolution images and comes in a tamper-resistant compact housing, making it perfect for fairly discreet video surveillance and monitoring situations in areas such as a baby's room, building entrance or hallway, or other areas in your home or business.

The JV-AC73 utilizes a 0.33-inch color DSP CCD (charge-coupled device) image sensor, with a 3.6-millimeter fixed lens and a picture element that provides 251,000 effective pixels. This color camera delivers a decent resolution of 330 horizontal TVL (TV lines), and achieves a better than 48 dB S/N (signal-to-noise) ratio with the AGC (automatic gain control) off. Highly sensitive with a minimum illumination of 0.5 Lux, the JV-AC73 can receive a picture under very low-light conditions for nighttime viewing. Compatible with the EIA (Electronics Industries Association) TV system, this unit includes a standard 75 ohm composite video output. The Jwin JV-AC73 camera runs on 12-volt DC power via an included AC/DC adapter, and has an operating temperature of 14 to 122-degrees Fahrenheit.

Technical Features:

  • Signal compatibility: EIA TV system
  • Light sensitivity: minimum illumination of 0.5 Lux
  • Horizontal resolution: 330 TVL
  • S/N ratio: better than 48 dB
  • Operating temperature: 14 to 122-degrees Fahrenheit
  • Dimensions: approximately 4.5 x 3 x 4.5 inches (W x D x H)
Designed primarily for indoor use, the Jwin JV-AC73 camera deserves serious consideration as one of the most care-free and user-friendly monitoring solutions for small to medium scale surveillance applications. The Jwin JV-AC73 allows viewing versatility with a manual pan and tilt that gives it a 360-degree field of vision. User's should note that the image sensor may become permanently damaged if exposed to long hours of direct sunlight or halogen light, so the camera should not be mounted or pointed directly at the sun or other bright-light sources.

About Surveillance Camera Technical Features
Lux rating is the measurement used to indicate how sensitive a camera is to light, and stands for the level of light reflected off a piece of paper by a candle from one meter away. Thus a sensitivity of three Lux would mean a camera could generate an acceptable picture of a piece-of-paper-sized object that was illuminated by the equivalent of three candles from one meter away. The lower the Lux level, the better the camera's ability to work in low-light conditions. The camera's resolution should be greater than or equal to the resolution supported by the system's recorder or monitor. The S/N, or signal to noise ratio, is an important measure of a camera's quality. A poor camera, low-light conditions or poor wiring causes "noise" which consumes processing power and disk space. A camera with a wide dynamic range is ideal, especially for recording areas in which both indoor and outdoor light are present. CCD (charge-coupled device) sensors provide high-quality images that are less susceptible to noise. CMOS (complimentary metal-oxide semiconductor) sensors offer less image quality, but are usually more cost-effective and energy efficient.

About Dome Cameras
A dome camera is one of the most common indoor security camera styles. Mounted on the ceiling, and often designed to be tamper resistant, dome cameras are designed to be visually appealing and more secure than other types of security cameras. A true dome camera enables a continuous 360-degree pan and 90-degree tilt operation, providing for extensive room coverage. One disadvantage of dome cameras is that they usually are not suitable for low-light conditions and must be used in well-lit areas.
