4.0 out of 5 stars Very Good Toilet, December 15, 2008
I recently had a Kohler Cimmaron Comfort-Height Elongated toilet installed in my house, and so far we're very pleased with it.

Likes:

* Comfort height seating: the extra height is more forgiving to people with back and/or knees difficulties.

* Class 5 Flush & Wide clog-free outlet: say goodbye to the plunger because chances are high you won't need it anymore.

* Quiet: It operates quietly (although it does tend to 'chug' a bit at the end of a flush), and it has a quiet slow-close lid, which prevents noisy lid clatter.

* One piece construction makes cleaning a cinch (fewer crevices), and gives the toilet an elegant appearance.

* Quick-release seat: no more fiddling underneath the toilet in order to remove the seat ... just lift the catch, squeeze the release, and off comes the seat for easy cleaning or replacement.

Minor Nits:

* The in-sloped seat is a very slightly uncomfortable, but tolerable.

* I wish the toilet flush volume were a bit more adjustable. It comes set for 1.6, but can only be changed to 1.4. It'd be nice if you could increase it to, say, 1.8 or 2.0 if you wanted to. The toilet flushes fast and quietly, but it seems to cry out for just a slightly larger volume of flush water.

Recommended. A tad pricey, but worth it. Also, as with all all merchandise, it pays to shop around ... I got mine for under $400.

5.0 out of 5 stars Flush is over almost before it starts, September 30, 2010

I feels so good to be flushing with so little water. The only way to flush with less would be dual flush and that's more complicated should it need to be repaired. I don't feel it needs more water to flush. In an instant it's empty. I've been living with it for a year now. The best toilet I've ever lived with!

1.0 out of 5 stars Do not buy this style!!!, February 23, 2011
I bought three of this style for my home renovation and am returning all 3. Only 1 has been installed. It has a serious design flaw and I was up until late in the night trying to figure it out. Upon flushing, the tank empties no problem, but the bowl does not!! My plumber, who is doing all of my renovation work was here 1st thing this morning, shaking his head. He told me that because of the 1.6 gallon (more water efficient ) tank size, there is not enough pressure to empty the bowl. He has had many customers with the same problem. I did not try to flush anything other than toilet paper. He told me to go back to a 2 piece toilet OR be very careful with what toilet paper you use. Don't use the 2 ply brand. Anyway, I am giving up style for reliable toilets & returning this style for 2 piece. You hope never to have to replace a toilet and from experience I have had 1 piece Kohler styles for decades and have always had flushing issues. My plumber explained that with the 2 piece there is more ability to adjust the flow and the flap situation is also easier to adjust.
