What a fabulous range of recipes! And the stories ... you can really hear Klecko's voice rise from the pages. He really is a great story teller. The best endorsement for this book, though, comes from my dog. Scotty absolutely loves Klecko's biscuits. You know ... I do believe that Klecko just might be St. Francis incarnate.

The day the book came, I had a big dilemma- finish my daughter's prom dress or read the book. I really wanted to just read the book, but the dress needed to be done as prom was in 2 days. I promised the dress, so I grudgingly put the book aside. As soon as the dress was competed, I sat down in my favorite chair, with my trusty companion next to me, and proceeded to read K9 Nation, the book I had longingly waited for.

Klecko's book is not only a cookbook, it is also a story of a man and his dogs, and the relationship they have with the community they come in contact with.

K-9 Nation is a cookbook that anyone can enjoy. You do not need to be a master baker, or even own a mixer to bake the biscuits. Some of the ingredients are a little different (I had no idea the grocery store carried red caviar) which expands your horizons to try other ingredients in a non threatening way.

I have tried many of the biscuits in the book, and my dog enjoys every one I have given to her. There are many more biscuits to try, so our culinary adventure together is on its way! Thanks Klecko for a book that not only reaches my spirit with the baking, but also reaches my soul with the stories.

I have enjoyed using the recipes from the K-9 Nation Biscuit Book.

I rarely bake for myself, but now I bake biscuits on a regular basis for my dog, Qwincy, and he loves them. You have to understand Qwincy, he LOVES soft treats, but if you give him a hard treat like a dog biscuit, he will bury it about 20 times first (between couch cushions, under a rug, in the toy box, etc.), and then he will eventually eat it. With the homemade biscuits he eats them right away. I guess no more store-bought biscuits for Q.

My favorite recipe so far, Auggie's Doggie Biscuits, is the easiest one, but not only does Qwincy love it, the cats do to. I cut the cat biscuits into small cat-size pieces - a hand noodle cutter works great for this and I only have to bake them for about 7 minutes.

This book is a gem with good recipes and the great stories that go with them.

This is definitely a niche book. Here is the niche crieria: You own a dog , you want fresh baked, mouth-watering, gourmet eats for them, you like to bake, and you love reading great short stories. Each recipe is designed with the canine in mind, and comes with a short story of how the recipe was inspired. A picture of Master baker Klecko and his dogs are on the back inside page. Read , laugh, bake, and serve. Your four-footed friend's eyes will be saying, "Are they gone already?"

This book is great for any dog lover and anyone who can bake, even a little. The book offers several recipes. The recipes often include side notes, such as "this treat is good for dogs who don't like car travel." Klecko obviously has spent much time perfecting the perfect recipes and researching the best nutrition for our four legged friends. A great buy and recommended for anyone who is curious about alternative treat options for dogs.

I have known Klecko for years, and his voice and stories are captured perfectly. The recipes are great and I have both human and dog friends who have eaten and loved the dog biscuits from the book. The photos really show the love his dogs have for him. And the biscuits!
