Better Than I Expected
I agree that this novel is a bit slow moving at first..but like any good book the suspense builds. Mary Roberts Rheinhert wrote a variety of novels and this is one of her best. The character of "K" is slowly built up. The romance blooms on a street with a variety of different people all with different wants and needs. Somehow K brings it all together. Good...

I found the first half of the book to be a bit drawn out and uninteresting, but it improves in the second half. This is a drama about the relationships between the people in a neighborhood of a small town and in the hospital where some of them work. I found the first half of the book to be a bit drawn out and uninteresting, but it improves in the second half. The author gets in a wide variety of things- jealousy, revenge, unrequited love, murder, family ties, mystery. She does a good job of getting inside of people's heads. If you have spare time this book is OK to read, but if you pass it by you aren't missing all that much.

I gave it "B" because of the slowness of plot & character development in the first half of the book. Second half was much more enjoyable.
