More About the Author

I've always had an interest in the paranormal, despite a rather normal childhood in Brooklyn, NY.

I first 'met' Jason Specter a few years ago when I began to read the stories on his website, scarystatesof america.com. I have to admit I was hooked right away.

I challenged Jason to pick his favorites. I told him I'd like him to choose one story from each state. I then used my contacts in the publishing world to help get his stories into print. The result is the book: THE SCARY STATES OF AMERICA.

I hope you enjoy your journey through a world beyond that which we take for granted'the world of undead spirits, unearthly creatures, and unexplained lights in the sky. A world filled with out-of-body experiences and past lives recalled, or, as Jason likes to call this place, The Scary States of America.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great book, July 10, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: K-Niner Dog of Doom (Garfield's Pet Force) (Paperback)
I really liked this book. It is without a doubt the best book of the series. In this book Vetvix has created K-niner and tries to brainwash all dogs everywhere. This book was very funny as well as action packed. I would highly recommend it for any Garfield fan or for anyone who likes an adventure with a little bit of humor as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very exuberant, August 7, 1998

This review is from: K-Niner Dog of Doom (Garfield's Pet Force) (Paperback)
I think Pet Force is a good book for all Garfield lovers. I liked it because it had a good plot and and interesting characters. The fights between Garzooka (aka Garfield), the leader of pet force, and K-niner Dog of Doom, leader of Vetvix's mutant army, with the power to boost the intelligence of dogs and punch Garzooka across a room, were exciting and very detailed. So if you love Garfield, you must get this book because it is exuberant.

4.0 out of 5 stars A book with a big bang!, February 26, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: K-Niner Dog of Doom (Garfield's Pet Force) (Paperback)
I'm in 5th grade and I liked this book because it makes me laugh. When I read Garfield's PET FORCE, Garfield and his friends had super powers. They transformed into big masled dogs. This made them stronger. Then they go fight K-niner and the other villans. They fought K-niner,a big dog, because K-niner put collors on humans to make them act like dogs. I would recommend this book to people of all ages, especially if they like Garfield and PET FORCE books. In the real world there would not be animals that have super powers and can fly. Also, there is no such thing as dogs that can think, talk and walk on two feet, like Garfield and the other super heros. The PET FORCE real names are Garzooka,a cat,Odious,a dog,Starlena,a cat,Abnermal,a cat, and compooky is a teddy bear. There's a bad person and his name is K-niner: Dog of Boom. His master is Vetvix's. There's also a wizard who has very strong powers;evil powers that can destroy people. I liked this book because there were animals with super powers who could go in space. Animals are qreat, like Rosco and Soloman,my cats. I wonder what it would be like if my cats had super powers.
