Looks like a pretty good show, September 25, 2007
This review is from: K-Ville (Amazon Instant Video)
So far I have seen both episodes of this show. My husband is very critical of shows and he really likes this one. Yes the first episode was somewhat predictable, I can almost guess the season finale, but I am sure the pilot of Law and Order and CSI got mixed reviews. Not that K-ville can measure arms with these shows but you get what I am saying. I visit New Orleans each year and you really get the flavor of the city from watching this show. The one thing I was impressed with is that they (so far) did not sugar coat ( and equally did not over play) the aftermath of Katrina and are not afraid to address the struggle of the rebuilding. I plan to continue watching especially to see how the characters develop.

At least KVILLE's setting is real, December 17, 2007
This review is from: K-Ville (Amazon Instant Video)
K VILLE has the potential to be a great cop show. At least the producers are smart enough to shoot it in New Orleans. KVILLE has already become a Monday Night Gumbo tradition. Neighbors gather around the set to enjoy some gumbo and watch another episode of KVILLE wonder what Boulet and his unlikely partner will get into this week. We take notes on what is "real" New Orleans and what is "Hollywood", such as the chase scences - everyone in New Orleans knows that it takes longer than 30 seconds to get from Jackson Square to I-10. The show does a decent job of showing the day to day frustrations many New Orleanians face trying to rebuild their lives, homes, and careers. The show also shows why we call New Orleans home despite the poverty and crime (isolated areas) there is an incredible richness in New Orleans that cannot be found in any other American city. It's in our music, our food, but most of all our people and their undying spirit.
While it is highly unlikely that KVILLE will be worthy of an Emmy anytime soon, the acting is passable. Snappier writing and more realistic storylines will greatly enhance what can become a great cop show set in a great city.

Great Cop Drama, November 19, 2007
This review is from: K-Ville (Amazon Instant Video)
This is a really good show it truly shows that Anthony Anderson can be more than the fat funny sidekick. Also the main plot is very interesting all the episodes feel like they go together. Unlike other cop shows such as L&A and CSI great cop show all around.
