Product Description

In February of 1961 the first pair of fiberglass skis was produced by brothers Bill and Don Kirschner in their Vashon Island, Washington shop. The Kirscners, avid skiers, built fiberglass animal cages for medical use and were convinced that their process could build a ski that was lighter, stronger, and more lively than the wood and metal skis of the day. They really just wanted to build some cool skis for themselves and their friends. And the rest, as they say, is history. Much has changed since those early days on sleepy Vashon Island, but one thing has not: K2 is still a bunch of adrenaline junkies who just want to make some cool stuff for themselves and their friends. Today, K2 Inc. is a premier, branded consumer products company with a portfolio of leading brands including Shakespeare and Stearns for marine and outdoor products, Rawlings and Worth for team sports, K2 and Brass Eagle for action sports, and Marmot and Ex Officio for apparel and footwear. K2's diverse products includes fishing, watersports activities, baseball, softball, alpine skiing, snowboarding, and inline skating. The perfect skates for the entry-level skater, the Marlee junior skates offer unsurpassed support, an easy fit, and superb comfort. The Marlees boast an easy-pull lace system with a locking buckle and pushbutton adjustment, so it's simple to fine-tune the frame to fit different-sized feet. The composite material, meanwhile, holds up to frequent use, so you needn't worry about the skates falling apart after just a few months. Add in an attached brake and smooth 76 mm wheels with ABEC 3 bearings and you have a great pair of skates for the budding skating freak in your family. The skates come in three sizes--small, medium, and large--and carry a one-year warranty.

I bought the K2 Marlee In-Line Skates in July '08 for my 8 yr. old daughter's birthday. They are very well made, quality skates- unlike the ones sold at Target, Walmart, etc. The buckles are sturdy and my daughter says they are very comfortable. I bought the medium, size 3-6, and my daughter's foot is about a 3 1/2. The skates seem true to size in my opinion, giving her a little growing room. A great buy.

These are the greatest skates ever. My daughter loves them. They fit perfectly and she will be able to fit into them for years and the quality of these skates is fantastic. If you are not sure about whether to purchase these or not; Trust me they are great. One of the best buys I have made.

My 10yo wears a size 8 women's shoe, and this skate fits. In fact, there is still growing room for her. It is nice that the skates are adjustable for size. They seem well made and my DD says they are comfortable. We have been experiencing really cold temps over these last few weeks and have not taken them outside yet. I was happy to find good skates for a reasonable cost, wo having to buy "adult" skates that are typically much more expensive.

These skates are JUST like the adult versions of K2 (which in my opinion is the BEST brand for skates). My little girl is 6 and had just started inline skating a little before she got these for Christmas. She put these on and took off like she'd been skating for years. They're VERY comfortable, super sturdy and solid, have great support, are very cute, and she just loves them. I can't say enough about these skates. What's even better is the adjustable size. I thought this would make them look cheap...but you don't notice at ALL. They are very well built and I would highly recommend these skates to anyone with a child who loves to skate...or one that's never been on skates at all!

My only complaint is they are a bit big - even with the adjustable feature. I got the 3-6 and the 6-8 for my daughters. I'm a size 7 and the 6-8 are a bit loose fitting for me, even at the smallest setting of 6. The wheels are really smooth and the laces tuck away to be hidden when using. My girls love them and k-2 is a great brand.
