![]() K2's attention to detail extends from the skate's construction to stylish accents on the frame and wheels. |
In 1994, K2 introduced the world's first Softboot skate, forever changing the way performance skates are designed and built. The proprietary Softboot design allows K2 to design skates the same way all high end athletic footwear is designed. K2's Softboot designs incorporate breathable, comfortable, and flexible materials that fit and function like a second skin while substantially reducing overall weight.
About K2
In February of 1961 the first pair of fiberglass skis was produced by brothers Bill and Don Kirschner in their Vashon Island, Washington shop. The Kirschners, avid skiers, built fiberglass animal cages for medical use and were convinced that their process could build a ski that was lighter, stronger, and more lively than the wood and metal skis of the day. They really just wanted to build some cool skis for themselves and their friends. And the rest, as they say, is history. Much has changed since those early days on sleepy Vashon Island, but one thing has not: K2 is still a bunch of adrenaline junkies who just want to make some cool stuff for themselves and their friends.
Today, K2 Inc. is a premier, branded consumer products company with a portfolio of leading brands including Shakespeare and Stearns for marine and outdoor products, Rawlings and Worth for team sports, K2 and Brass Eagle for action sports, and Marmot and Ex Officio for apparel and footwear. K2's diverse products includes fishing, water sports activities, baseball, softball, alpine skiing, snowboarding, and inline skating.

I bought the K2 Marlee In-Line Skates in July '08 for my 8 yr. old daughter's birthday. They are very well made, quality skates- unlike the ones sold at Target, Walmart, etc. The buckles are sturdy and my daughter says they are very comfortable. I bought the medium, size 3-6, and my daughter's foot is about a 3 1/2. The skates seem true to size in my opinion, giving her a little growing room. A great buy.

These are the greatest skates ever. My daughter loves them. They fit perfectly and she will be able to fit into them for years and the quality of these skates is fantastic. If you are not sure about whether to purchase these or not; Trust me they are great. One of the best buys I have made.

My 10yo wears a size 8 women's shoe, and this skate fits. In fact, there is still growing room for her. It is nice that the skates are adjustable for size. They seem well made and my DD says they are comfortable. We have been experiencing really cold temps over these last few weeks and have not taken them outside yet. I was happy to find good skates for a reasonable cost, wo having to buy "adult" skates that are typically much more expensive.
